USA Today Tries to Whitewash Growing Latino Support for Donald Trump

The left has sold all this border wall-talk, illegal aliens, and deportations as anti-Latino racism. So why, some wonder, do so many Latinos love Donald Trump?

It is a perplexing problem for progressives. Nearly as inconceivable as the growing support your president has among Black Americans. The Dems and the media have been broadcasting their hate and racism narratives non-stop for years. Why aren’t they listening?

Because Democrats lie? Maybe but there’s more to it than that.

I happen to have a close relationship with some Latino women who came to America legally. They LOVE Donald Trump. They support the border wall, strict vetting, Visa reforms, and deportation. Why? The rule of law. A point that never surfaces in this sketchy propagandist hit piece at USA Today.

In many Central and South American Countries, the law is fungible if there is any at all. The rules exist to serve the people in power at the expense of everyone else. Many left their birthplaces to escape that. To find the freedom to choose their own path to prosperity that eluded them back home.  Where the rules didn’t change to suit the whims of the powerful and connected.

We have that problem in the form of the modern Democrat party – which is why many Hispanics support Republicans and Donald Trump.

And while Democrats claim to support Latino interests many who came here legally do not see it that way. A point explained only briefly in the USA Today piece with this statement.

Here’s what you need to know about the Latino vote: there is no such thing. That is, Latinos aren’t monolithic and we don’t vote as a bloc.

A significant number of legal immigrants (not just Latinos) have a serious issue with the open borders movement. Like many Americans, they share a desire to protect the idea that liberty is only a thing if the laws apply to everyone, and everyone has a voice in their making. When an entire political party gives up on the law because it lacks the votes to change it, this looks a lot like creeping tyranny because that is what it is.

They also refuse to buy into the racism and xenophobia narratives the Democrats peddle.

Add to that Republican economic reforms that have improved the lives of minorities in ways that no Democrat President or Legislative majority has ever managed, and it becomes increasingly challenging to dine on what progressives are feeding them.

Donald Trump got 28% of the Latino vote in 2016. There is no reason to believe he will do worse in 2020 and plenty of reasons to suggest he will do better — perhaps 30% or more.  That scares the left as much as Mr. Trump’s growing support among blacks.

They can’t win without that, and three years of spewing hate and lies have moved the needle in the wrong direction. That’s why USA Today and others will be penning more articles like this one. Democrats need minorities to believe their bulls**t to win.

An increasing number of them are not, and that’s a yuge problem for the American Left.
