As a fifty-year resident of Laconia, N.H., I was shocked to read of the unsolvable bathroom issue at Laconia High School where all bathrooms have been locked and students must stand in line at the nurse’s station to relieve themselves.
The Manchester Board of School Committee will take up a proposed policy on transgender students at its meeting on Monday, January 25, 2021. (Starts on page 26 of the agenda.) On a 4 to 1 vote, the policy was approved by the board’s Committee on Policy on January 12, 2021.

I think it was Tip O’Neal who coined the phrase: “All politics is local.” That’s as true today as when O’Neal uttered it. Right here in Gilford, our school board is struggling with a problem best described as a catch 22. I’m speaking of the transgender phenomena.
