Immigrant Do-gooders want others to care for those they bring – yeah, that’s responsible

From the Union Leader:

Ready or not, the refugees are coming

The state’s refugee resettlement program is expected to spread from Manchester to Nashua in the coming weeks, with 50 refugees headed toward the Gate City. Officials in both cities are expressing concern over the plans.

“I was talking about my concerns with the head of the International Institute, and the next communication I have from them is to say that they (the refugees) are coming, and we’ve found housing for them,” said Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau. “I asked, ‘Where? When? Who’s coming? Are there any children?’ No one has any answers. The concerns I raised were real ones, and I feel like they weren’t addressed at all.”

The International Institute of New Hampshire (IINH) has been working for months to resettle another 200 refugees in Manchester, despite a sometimes frosty relationship with city officials. Mayor Ted Gatsas wrote a letter in 2011 to the U.S. State Department, which oversees the refugee program, faulting its “complete and utter lack of consideration for the local resettlement community.”

Actually, that headline should read:

Immigrant Do-gooders bring refugees to places where they are not

Harsh?  Yes, but for good reason.  There has been on-going battle discussion between city officials and these folks (and the Lutherans that do the same thing); where is the money going to come from when the Federal money runs out after their initial settlement  from the officials and the pawn-them-off-onto-others go “not our problem”.  Oh sure, they are there for a period of time – but not forever and then if they run into problems, it’s onto the city’s services they fall.  Yet, these self-righteous smugs keep the same attitude of “don’t worry, we’ve got more coming”!  I remember accounts over the years that when the refugees they bring (dump?) into Manchester run that course of time (and $$ from the Feds, which is, as you know, come from our pockets) and when confronted with failure, they would just figuratively walk away (“not our problem – we have others to attend to”).  You have the problem now, not us – after all, they are in YOUR community now”.  Otherwise, if they did continue to take care of these folks, why would Gatsas be righteously be complaining?  And soon, Nashua Mayor Lozeau?

This shows the fundamental flaw and hubris of Liberals – they believe that all of their concerns should be everyone else’s – and once they feel they have accomplished what makes them feel good,  off they go.  And how DARE the rest of us complain about their actual results?  “Where is your sense of community – of taking care of others?” Liberals / Progressives demand – even as they force others into a community effort in which that other just might not want to participate.  Forced charity – where is the Freedom in that?    Oh, that’s right – the need of the refugees for a new life comes before your piddling sense of Freedom!

Yes, I am in a bit of a sour mood – after all, who likes having other people making decisions for me, an adult, in which I have no input and no recourse, but can affect me and my family?  This is the essence of Progressivism – you will participate in a faux sense of community on our say-so. And this was the entire reason why I got active in politics.  And yes, Progressives ARE bullies.

The question is, when are we going to stand up and say “get out of our pockets and let us donate to the charities that we WANT to instead of being FORCED to by the likes of you?  Why won’t you take on the responsibility for these folks personally, with your money, until they are successful?”

Oh, that would be too much self-responsibility in a welfare state….
