Fred Thompson arrives in NH- A first look.

Fred Thompson works the crowd in Stratham, NH
.
We had the opportunity to be among the crowd at the Seacoast Republican Women’s Chili Fest event, where Fred Thompson made his first appearance as "candidate" Thompson here in the Granite State. Below is a YouTube we shot of his very first campaign stop at the Scamman Farm in Stratham, NH. I have added a couple of initial thoughts into the video as it plays. Any guy that’s touted as one who "supports the ENTIRE Constitution- ALL the Amendments- he doesn’t dance on any of them…" is someone that will attract a serious look from me.
.
Check out the video. Keep coming back here to GraniteGrok for more short videos and my observations as we continue to witness the unveiling of the Fred Thompson campaign here in NH. Oh, and don’t worry- we haven’t suddenly signed on with the Fredheads. We’re still watching everyone else, too. Later this week, we expect to be travelling on McCain’s No Surrender Tour on the Straight Talk Express.  At the end of it all, we will be supporting the Republican we believe can best stop the Democrats from seizing the presidency in 2008..

I was in Stratham, too, and I don’t share the belief–wherever it came from–that Senator Thompson supports ALL the Amendments to the Constitution. In his speech, he clearly dissed the First Amendment by suggesting Americans must appear united or the terrorists will attack again. When asked after his speech to square that position with the First Amendment, he had no answer.

Lisa, are you a Ron Paul supporter? Or a Democrat?

OUCH !!! This excerpt from article in Sunday’s NH Concord Monitor by columnist Katy Burns
“Thompson managed a rare two-fer: He poked a stick into the eyes of all the other Republican candidates who’d been slogging along the campaign trail for months, and he gave a figurative finger to New Hampshire voters by eschewing a Granite State debate held that same night. Thompson’s stunt was not just insulting or gimmicky. It was both arrogant and tacky, far, far beneath anything Arthur Branch, his TV character, would do.”
“His refusal to debate his fellow candidates before a live audience hints at more than a bit of cowardice on Fred’s part. If he’s not ready to stand up to mildly challenging questions now, how on earth will he cope with the rigors of a real campaign?”
Fred said on Fox News that he prefers Lincoln-Douglas style debate 1-to-1. Mike Huckabee has accepted the challenge this weekend and suggests it start in NH. The 2 social conservatives should debate.
Will he accept or is this yet another decision for Fred to procrastinate?
Yes, I am a Huckabee supporter.
