I shared a meme earlier today that shows you what happens to “affordability” when you let globalist progressives run wild with your politics and the economy.

Less meme-like content has shown how Europeans live in the land of economic malaise, where things we see as everyday amenities are luxuries to them. It’s the exact same economy Barack Obama (Democrats and the media) told us to get used to before Trump got elected and the economy exploded with prosperity for men, women, minorities, and even teenagers.
Biden and Dems blew the economy up again, and Trump has been working to fix that too, but the EU and Dem economies share a lot of albatrosses, one of which is climate and energy socialism. A deliberate policy choice that makes energy scarcer and more expensive. And the EU has been at it for so long – without any meaningful pushback – they’ve more or less screwed themselves into a corner.
EU Cost of Living Crisis: “The EU … don’t have a magic wand to make the price increases go away”
But abolishing 30% of household energy bills by cancelling the green energy transition might help.
Up to 30% of baseline everyday costs are a result of green transition and carbon offset costs. Reliance on wind and solar, and a slew of taxes at production, delivery, and use, make the energy and everything else more expensive.
The German wholesale price for electricity has risen within a few days from 13 to more than 300 euros per megawatt-hour. That is according to the news agency Bloomberg, citing data from the Epex Spot power exchange. The day-ahead price for delivery on Thursday is thus about twice the October average so far. In some evening hours, prices of more than 500 euros are even being reached. As recently as Sunday, power was trading at times for just 13 euros.
This is the result of systemic political choices that put Germany (and most if not all of the EU) in this position in the first place.
Cheap, abundant energy is the foundation of modernity and Western civilization, but rich scolds have spent decades trying to convince you that we need to live like the second or third world to save it, and they don’t want that. They’ll take the guilt money and play to the audience, writing the checks, but most of it lines the pockets of leadership, just like in the EU and the US. Green Energy is wealth redistribution that drives up prices for people who can least afford it.
The EU riots are spreading partly because failed energy policy is colliding with global conflict reality.
We know that Iran can reach nearly every city in Europe with medium-range missiles. If it had even one nuke, it could hold them all hostage, and given the sad state of military and national security across the EU, standard explosive ordnance would likely work as well. IN other words, while the EU pandered to Iran, ignored sanctions, and refused to do anything about the threat, Iran amassed multiple vectors, from terrorism to energy to kinetic military action.
Sorry, forgot to add street hooligans, burning the place down for them.
Nothing about the globalist progressive agenda is good for economies, people, or the planet. I mean, look at all those riot emissions. Are they going to tax them for that and then fine them because they didn’t buy carbon credits or, more likely, join them because burning stuff will be the only way to keep warm?
And yes, those same policies here do the same thing to you.
