Folks in New Hampshire would tell you, ” We’ve had Greenland for a very long time.” They mean Greenland, New Hampshire, incorporated in 1721. Ten square miles of land with about 3 square miles of water. The Marquis de Lafayette dropped by in 1824, and that’s Greenland, New Hampshire. There are twelve other towns in the US with the same name, and a few more outside it, including the great big one that’s been in the news.
The one Trump said he wanted for America. Buy it, take it; it was going to be ours. No question in his mind.
The media and the elites, especially the Euro-weenies, lost their collectivist minds. They channeled Greta Thunberg. How dare you. I’m sure the word preposterous got used more than once. Who does he think he is? He’s the guy who wrote The Art of the Deal, and it still amazes me that the left would rather be triggered than gauge what is actually happening.
State the impossible so you not only get the probable, but you get at least what you really wanted, or more.
The deal affirms two new sites where the U.S. will station troops and build bases. That’s in addition to America’s lonely current outpost, the remote Pituffik Space Base, home to about 150 troops. That outpost will also now be “modernized and expanded.”
The deal explicitly includes Greenland in Trump’s sprawling “Golden Dome” missile defense system. It clarifies that no non-NATO nation can ever establish a military presence in the tundra. And it binds Denmark to working closely with the U.S. to counter Russian and Chinese espionage in the world’s largest island.
And finally, the kicker: The deal gives the U.S. “permanent control over security and all other needs” in Greenland, regardless of whether Greenland ultimately wins independence from Denmark.
America controls, or has a majority interest in, every major shipping transit point on the planet except the Turkish Straits, and Turkey is at least on paper an EU ally, and you can bet we have some diplomacy in play there as well.
In less than two years, Trump has kicked Russia and China out of everywhere that matters to America except Africa, and we’ve made deals there as well.
Which puts the Democrats’ chaos narrative in its proper place.
They are the chaos. If we didn’t have Democrats, America would be a much more peaceful and prosperous place.
I’m not saying we don’t need competing political interests; we do. We need them as much as we need free-market competition. A fight over who can give you the most freedom, the least amount of government. Say what you want about Trump, but he’s the alternative to the political monopoly that has controlled DC and American politics for far too long. Republicans who oppose him are more likely to become Democrats or at least pander to their declining deep state monopoly.
Did you catch that?
The machine is Democrats, government unions, special interest lawyers, the donor class, legacy media, and a slew of foreign interlopers dominated by China. Republicans, Democrats, they all want a spot at the trough or a seat at the table, and they don’t care what price you have to pay.
Trump and MAGA are political outsiders, disruptors, and the counter-revolution to the preening, creeping globalist syndicalism that consumes the other side.
Trump is the resistance to all of that, and the mission is to Make America Great Again for you.
If you want to end the chaos, you need to stop voting for Democrats. They hate you and America. They don’t want us to control our own destiny, and they certainly don’t want you playing any part in your own.
Greenland is just another example (the island, not the town, in New Hampshire. It was strategically important to our national security, and the left dismissed it and practically gave it to our enemies. Trump said we needed it, and everyone acted like he was wrong, crazy, a tyrant for thinking we had to have it.
He played them, the EU, everyone.
America doesn’t own Greenland, but it controls it, and by controlling it, we protect America and Americans, access to mineral rights, and we’ve kicked out modern historical enemies from another piece of the Western hemisphere.
What have Democrats done besides bow to our enemies, finance terrorists, launder money to their friends and themselves, and sow chaos and division?
