While surfing the news-o-sphere for something to amuse my mind, I stumbled upon what you’d expect to find. An article with the headline “Canada and Australia Have Much Higher Violent Crime Rates Than the US.” By expect, I mean, the US gets a bad rap for its murder rates, especially from Democrats who run the cities where all that murder happens. You’d almost like to suggest that they let it happen because it helps them politically on their civilian disarmament agenda.
The same people who complain about bail being oppressive or insist they won’t enforce an increasing list of crimes are also responsible for managing America’s murder farms. Not just the black-on-black crime, but most of the crime happens under their not-so-watchful eye, to the benefit of their anti-2A agenda, which made it all the more amusing when Trump surged “troops” into crime-riddled cities and magically made the murder rate drop to historic lows.
Murders in the U.S. are usually highly concentrated geographically, often connected to street gang activity, and threaten only a tiny fraction of Americans. Just 2% of counties account for approximately 54% of all murders, and within those counties roughly two-thirds of killings occur within areas covering only about ten city blocks. By contrast, 53% of U.S. counties report no murders in a typical year, while another 16% report only one.
Crime is way down in America, but we’re still letting democrats let black people kill each other at rates high enough to remain one of the world’s leaders in that category. But murder only accounts for 0.2% of all violent crime in the United States, and violent crime as a whole is a more telling statistic, especially when most of the murders happen in small sections of large blue cities. Taken as a whole, America is not the leader among so-called Western Democracies when you include rape/sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and simple assault.
It turns out that Australia, for instance, has vastly higher rates of assaults, robbery, rape, and break-ins than the United States.
Now take a look at Canada.
Canadians aren’t that nice after all. Nearly 300% more violent crime than in America? Canada has more than one-third the population of the US and nearly 300% more violent crime (absent the rape sexual assault data, so who knows if it’s more than that).
The numbers are, of course, all subject to interpretation.
Human nature and bad policy tell us that someone is telling someone else to hide the real numbers, which is why this data is based on victimization reporting, not actual police provided data. I’m pro-cop, and law enforcement and rule of law and all of that, but people are people, and the local police answer to civilian leadership, which is what made the whole George Floyd BLM thing such a tragic comedy. The people responsible for any systemic racism were always going to be the Democrats who ran the city whose police were under their command and control.
As an aside, we don’t have the 2025/2026 data post-Trump war on crime, so an update will likely move America in a very positive direction on murder and violent crime globally, which is an even bigger problem for the gun-grabbing former Lands of the English Crown (and others). Those places have bans on guns but more violent crime, just like we always said they would. They are also hiding the facts from the public.
“Anyone who wants to understand the seriousness of crime in Canada needs to recognize that victimization surveys paint a more complete picture than police-reported crime,” said Gary Mauser, who has extensively studied crime at Simon Fraser University in Canada.
The gap between police statistics and actual victimization is substantial. In Canada, the police-reported violent-crime rate is 885 per 100,000 people. The GSS reported a violent victimization rate almost 10 times that – 8,300 per 100,000.
New Hampshire has had Constitutional Carry for many years now, and it continues to be one of the safest states in the nation with remarkably low crime rates. The urban murder-farmers’ answer to that problem is to ignore it, pick one or two tragic local incidents, and milk them to get their way, and that works. It also puts more people in danger and at risk for increased rates of violent crime. But they never tell you that, which is why we keep bringing it up.
Democrat run anything inevitably turns into an over-taxed, underserved, crime-riddled war zone of misery, homelessness, drug overdoses, and death. Democrats destroy everything they touch.
