You can hardly throw a virtual rock around the internet these days without hitting a story about how the British Empire is advancing fascist and draconian anti-speech rules and laws. The UK puts more people in prison for online speech than countries like China and North Korea (subject to the notion that we actually get real data from any of them).
They call them hate speech laws. Regulatory Incursions to protect others from your nasty, bigoted, racist, and xenophobic thoughts. But you and I know what this is. The elites are whittling away at political speech.
It’s a lot like that banning guns in bars bill that Burlington wants. Or, how Hawaii decided that any public place, even privately owned, could ban firearms. If you make it too difficult to exercise, the right people won’t start, and those who have will stop.
We give them the big double-fisted middle finger, but it still impairs boisterous, unruly Americans. The British Empire continues to expand its abuse (Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and the Motherland) by applying the laws to foreigners.
I wrote a while back about how I cna’t travel to England anymore because they might arrest me at the terminal for hate speech violations. I can add Australia to that growing list.
And didn’t I tell you “they” would use anti-semitism to infringe on free speech rights?
In response to the recent on-campus nonsense the U.S. House of Representatives has found something upon which a majority of them agree. The “unrest” is an opportunity to suppress constitutionally protected speech.
The Antisemitism Awareness Act (H.R. 6090) passed 320-91, not because it is good law or necessary for public interest or safety, but because it gives the appearance of doing something. Doing what?
How about shutting down debate.
In the US, they can pass all the laws they want, lawsuits will sprout like mushrooms on shit, and it will get a stay until the SCOTUS kills it. Until KBJ fumbled her way into a job for which she is clearly not qualified, all the justices (liberal included) knew well enough to tell anti-free speech action where to go. But Australia inst the US.
Our nations were essentially inspired by the same folks and built on similar foundations, but like some drunk in the park, aftera few too many pints, the remnants of Britain’s Empire have wandered off the path, fallen into the duck pond, and can’t stand all the quacking.
The adoption of legislation that adversely affects, even prevents, free speech has been of increasing concern in Australia. Next week, the Australian Parliament is being recalled for the purpose of passing laws against ‘antisemitism, hate, and extremism’. The proposed legislation in question is the Combating Antisemitism, Hate and Extremism Bill 2026, which seeks to criminalise antisemitism, hate speech, and extremism. …
The proposed hate speech laws are so vague that a wide variety of legitimate political communication could be banned. They could easily be used to silence genuine commentary of government policy.
And all these rules will apply to anyone flying in to the Land Down Under (unless they are Msulims).
The same bill that kneecaps speech and further restricts gun rights, what of them remains, says nothing at all about the antics of Islamic jihadists, or given that it is they who shot up a beach full of Jews, promoting the new and heightened restrictions.
Indeed, the Australian government has not even mentioned radical Islam as the main purpose of these laws, despite the fact that an Islamic terror attack is the cause of the slaughter of many innocent people, not only at Bondi Beach on December 14, 2025, but other previous terrorist attacks on Australian and foreign soil.
You wouldn’t want to upset the illegally gun-toting Islamofascists who (by the way) will say what they like, and kill more Australians, because this bill will do nothing to stop them from doing anything at all.
Oddly, the only hope Australians have on that front is to let China take over their country. They’d arrest them, jail them, and maybe even kill them and harvest their organs.
I’m not saying it’s a good trade-off, but how bad does your government have to get before improving public safety is only possible under the thumb of a totalitarian communist society?
And I don’t hate to say this, but elections have consequences. Y’all voted for this, so you get what you ask for.
Note to Americans. Your ‘socialists’ are just as bad or worse. Keep them out of office, or you can add losing your rights to the rising cost of Democrat rule.
