MACDONALD: How Long Until They Find A Reason To Kill* You?

Those familiar with the slippery slope series have kept up with my years of observation and commentary on the question of state-sanctioned assisted suicide. At its simplest, the only obligation a state might have is to ensure contracts with health care and insurers are honored in these circumstances. The bills are paid and survivors get benefits. Consent was granted, and we’re not looking at murder or manslaughter.

Instead, we get massive bills that, despite efforts to prevent loopholes, are a mess, which isn’t even the biggest problem. If you build a death-state culture, they will come. By them, I mean people who will take the opportunity to find a way to profit from death. There is also the curious coincidence that most of the legislators and advocates of so-called assisted dying are also depopulationists. If you should not trust them with your health care, I’d say this is a bigger step in that same “wrong” direction.

Canada has proven to be the best example of how a progressive government and a dollar-conscious medical culture that corrupts what was sold as compassion. Medically assisted dying is not the fifth leading cause of death in Canada. Entire industries are popping up to sell experiences for the soon-to-be departed. There are not enough doctors to approve them, and the doctors who do… approve too much too often with declining oversight. And as I’ve documented and warned in the past, MAiD was destined to become the single best source for organ donations, and that inevitability has come to pass.

Conjoining euthanasia with organ-harvesting is apparently not in the least controversial among the medical leadership in Canada — even though the potential to donate organs could become an inducement to ask to be killed. And remember: In Canada one need not be terminally ill to receive a lethal jab — meaning that people who could live for years can instead be killed and have their organs harvested.

Canada has floated offering MAiD to the economically disadvantaged, children born with birth defects, the mentally ill, those with severe depression, and anyone whose condition strains the government-run health system. People who want to live are repeatedly counseled to consider assisted suicide, including those injured by COVID vaccines (here, too), and suffering from both gender reassignment surgery. One woman, suffering depression and suicidal ideation, was referred as well. [Related: Slippery Meet Slope: More Evidence The System Will Try To Convince You to Kill Yourself]

The entire exercise continues down the slippery slope, and the culture of death is consuming the general population.

When the hastening of death is legalized, it turns some suicides and homicides into a “good.” That transforms culture for the much worse. For example, a 2023 poll found that 28 percent of Canadians polled favored allowing euthanasia for homelessness.

The eugenicists must be beside themselves. Swiftian parody made real, minus the part where we eat them, replaced with a population farmed for organs instead.

Anyone who ever thought it unlikely that a government or its people could ever be conditioned to dismiss human beings in this way should print that out and eat it.

The disabled and anyone on a procedural or surgical waiting list is a prime target, and increasingly, at least in Canada, they are fighting for their right to keep living. Now add the increased pressure of the organ harvesting industrial complex and the decline or absence of any suicide prevention infrastructure. You’ve got a government that solves problems it likely created – wait times, inflation, poverty, homelessness, illness/injury (from COVID vaccines) – by using its soon-to-be former citizens as organ farms for the people who did this to them.

If you are one of the people in between, you might want to change our electoral habits before they find a reason why they no longer need you.
