New Hampshire’s been rated number one for a lot of things. Public Safety, Quality of Life, Average Income, Low Crime, even (whatever I’ve forgotten), but roads?
Roads
The Clogged Artery of Rochester NH
At what point was it decided that $3 million more dollars would need to be pumped into less than a half acre of roadway for a Traffic Roundabout? I’d say it was “Round a Bout” the time of the initial planning stage.
Democrat Gov. Lied About Gas Taxes – Diverts them to Pet Priority
Anyone who tells you that this or that tax will be dedicated to some specific purpose is lying to you. They know, as well as anyone that the legislature that proposes the taking or some future cabal of elected highway robbers, will use the money for whatever pleases them.
Kill Any New Gas Taxes – It’s what the People Want
Gallup has a poll out showing that most Americans would not support raising the gas tax 20 cents a gallon…even for infrastructure projects.
Two-thirds of Americans would vote against a state law that would increase the gas tax by up to 20 cents a gallon, with the revenue going toward improving roads and bridges and building more mass transit.
Another Day With NH Democrats….Two More Taxes…or is it Six?
The Concord Monitor is reporting on a plan by New Hampshire Democrat David Campbell (D- Nashua), that would eventually extract $115,000,000.00 million more dollars per year out of the pockets of struggling New Hampshire families. He’d like to raise the gas tax and the increase the cost to register your vehicles every year.
His ‘plan’ would raise the price you pay for gas five cents a year for three years. At the same time the cost of your vehicle registration would also increase five dollars a year for three years. So you’d’ see two separate tax increases every year for three years; is that two new taxes of six?
The promise, and given past experience this means nothing coming from a New Hampshire Democrat, is that they will use this additional tax money exclusively for road and bridge work.
We obviously need money for roads and bridges but I don’t think we need any new taxes and fees–so I have a better idea.
