While many parents around the country are fighting for quality public schools, some teachers and administrators continue to let their students down. I call it Gutter Education now. That’s why it’s obvious the goal is not quality or excellence, but instead, trash and dumbed-down academics.
Public Schools
Libs Crying Over Free Money
Imagine you run a daycare. It’s big business, and the state gives you a big bucket of money for each kid you watch. You don’t even watch the kid as much as you should, and sometimes they get exposed to things they shouldn’t, but you still get paid to “watch” them.
Political Accountability Isn’t
Recently, I came across yet another in a long line of calls for ‘holding accountable those who are supposed to serve us.’ In this case, the writer was talking about public schools. Yes, we should definitely do that. We should hold accountable the people who operate our public school system.
The Second Law of Politics
Over the weekend, I attended the Save the Children rally at the statehouse. I made some brief remarks, which are approximated below. The envelope I’m holding here is labeled with an X. It identifies a government project, but we don’t know what it is. It’s to help some group of people, but we don’t know … Read more
The Meteoric Rise of Homeschooling in America
We can give you plenty of reasons why you should find a way to homeschool your children, not the least of which is so they learn to read. The public school experiment has failed, and while there’s room for reform, more parents are taking matters into their own hands.
A Call for Democrat Rep. Luneau To Support Quality and Politically Unbiased Science Standards
Dear Representative Luneau, After listening to your testimony opposing the State Board of Education from adopting Prager U Financial Literacy for Learn Everywhere, I hope that you will now become an advocate for addressing and removing the political bias students in New Hampshire are faced with when they enter our public schools. Your passionate testimony before Commissioner Edelblut, … Read more
Teacher’s Union President Blames Public Schools …
This is my first dance with the current Chicago Teacher’s Union president. Stacy Davis Gates sent her son to a private Catholic School. When challenged on that choice, she blamed the lack of school choice, which is racist. School choice is racist, not the lack of it.
When A School Board Member Actually Puts Kids First
Curt Hier, a public school history teacher and debate coach for thirty-five years who now runs a business helping students get into college, was elected to the Slate Valley School Board this past March. Hier’s background gives him more insight into the actual workings of the public school system than the average school board member … Read more
DeSantis vs. Sununu on Public Education
There is a big difference between Governor DeSantis and Governor Sununu when it comes to improving public education. Democrats will claim that Republicans do not care about public education because they are the party of tax and spend.
What Every Parent Needs to Know for Back-To-School …
It is Back to School time across the country. Thousands of students will be returning to the classroom in the next few weeks to begin the 2023-24 school year. In addition to preparing our students to return to school, filling out a million forms, buying that perfect backpack and stocking up on glue sticks, colored … Read more
PCTSD – Post Covid Traumatic School Disorder: Public School Attendance Collapses
The Teachers’ Unions wanted smaller class sizes, and they got them, but was this what they were after? Post-COVID, parents are keeping their kids home more than ever because of how Schools have changed and changed their kids.
COEXIST Bumper Stickers Come to Life … As Interfaith Opposition to Left-Wing Porn in Public Schools
Montgomery County Maryland Public Schools (a swanky DC suburb) have themselves a dilemma. The laws of the state and policies of the schools allow parents to exclude their children from objectionable lessons, but the district has decided to ignore the requests.
How Would You Feel If Priests Were Making These Books Available to School Children?
I’m okay with adults doing whatever they want, assuming it does not harm others. And we can debate what that means when it comes to a wide range of things, but adults exposing children to sexualized content harms them, and it needs to stop.
Trust the Experts
You might have heard that in Croydon, our superintendent admitted, on two separate occasions, in public, that even for $1 million per student per year, he wouldn’t be able to teach the two dozen kids in the Croydon Village School (CVS) to read.
This Extra Challenge to Public Schools Could Result in a Decline in Academic Outcomes
Dear Representatives: After reviewing the House Education Committee discussion on student mental health during a work session on June 28, 2023, I wanted to add some commentary.
Trump Reads Grok?
Recently I’ve started pushing the idea here at Grok that libraries and schools are inherently political institutions, so we should start treating them as such by electing librarians, teachers, and school administrators.
Let’s Play a Guessing Game
I’d like you to read the quote below and decide if you think they better fit the ideas of a Democrat ora Republican. I’ll give you my thoughts at the end.
Public Schools and Teachers Are Inherently Political, so Let’s Treat Them Accordingly
Read this. Then ask yourself: If 70 or 75 percent of parents want (or don’t want) their children to be treated a certain way, how is it that teachers and administrators are able to ignore them? It’s because we pretend that these positions are not political when in fact, they are. So they are protected … Read more
The School Just Sent Your 8-Year-Old Son Home With Maxi Pads and Panty Liners …
Arranged marriages and matchmaking are still a thing despite it seeming odd to us in the West. Iran was once much more free; women had more rights and were not required to wear hijab. My point is that culture matters and is defined by what we accept or reject as a community™.
