I was not surprised by this bad news. As NHPR reported: “Test scores released this week by the U.S. Department of Education show New Hampshire students’ reading and math test scores on the decline, continuing a trend seen over the last nine years.”
Do you want your kids in this situation – getting the snot beat out of them in class? Or even worse, the child that’s instigated this battle in a classroom?
The Manchester Board of School Committee’s resolution to address systemic and institutional racism does not go far enough. In fact, it doesn’t address one of the most important factors plaguing the school district- -illiteracy.
