Email Doodlings – Libertarians HAVE finally made a political impact – are they about to throw it away?

I’ve been in a writing funk for a while now – too many targets, no focus, trying to run for re-election in my town, a couple of other projects, and I find myself stretched too thin (yeah, self-induced again).  However, the following came over the gunwales a few minutes ago, and the fog (smog?) that has settled in cleared for a few minutes rather quickly to respond:

http://thedailybell.com/3693/Ron-Holland-No-Paul-No-Vote-in-November

“I would also say of Ron Paul . he doesn’t need to win. In his view he is  winning already. This is an ideological point he is making. But here’s why  it’s electorally significant . a lot of people, I mean 41 percent in  Virginia, only two people on the ballot, still a lot of people voted for  Ron Paul. A lot of those voters are portable. They’re not Republican .  they’re not dedicated Republican voters.” . Tucker Carlson, Editor, The  Daily Caller

It is time for a groundswell of Ron Paul supporters to quietly,  respectfully but firmly make their position clear to the mainstream media  and the GOP establishment. Simply put, “No Paul on the ticket means no  vote for the GOP in November.”

Alright, I’ll say it – with all of the levers of the Executive Branch at his command, and his willingness to use them regardless of whether he has Constitutional or even legal authorization to have them do the actions he wants, how much of this Country will be left?  In the news and in the blogosphere, I see agency and department in the Executive Branch doing what bureaucracies have always done – push their authorizations to do more and more.  And lately, there is a very disturbing trend that, under Obama (knowing that there will NEVER be retribution from him from doing so), they are making rules and regulations that totally disregard their authorizing legislation.

It’s Town election season here in NH – and teachers are being closely looked at: If Bedford teachers want to leave, let them go

From another email that was inbound was this Letter concerning teachers and taxes from a town other than mine.  From the folks that I hear from, whose jobs and companies have been affected by globalization in commodity products and services, there seems to be a growing resentment towards government workers who have absolutely no empathy … Read more

Data Point – Obama approval rating slumps badly

From Rassmussen: At one point a little while ago, I was beginning to worry about a Republican enthusiasm gap as this metric very much was starting to trend in Obama’s favor.  As you can see, the green line show Democrat favorability for Obama (red is strongly dislike).  While recent events seem to have excited his … Read more

Misogyny by the Left – a lack of consistency shown by Obama and other Democrats

Obama (President), Debbie Wasserman-Shultz (Head of the DNC), and other Democrat luminaries all went after Rush Limbaugh’s remarks concerning Sandra Fluke.  Oh, the horribleness of it all!  Such uncivility of it all – how could he!  And then proceeded to paint ALL Republicans, implicitly or explictly, with the same paint brush.  Next step was the … Read more

Well, Elizabeth Warren, you wrote your own rule book…..

And as Saul Alinsky advised, we’re just holding you to it.  ‘Magine that, the person who wrote the intellectual foundation for Occupy Wall Street, and showed her take on that philosophy (“Warrenism“), is now reaching out to members of that 1% – “please sirs, may I have some more (for my campaign)?”. Data Point – Obama’s Centralized Planning’s Unemployment Rate

Boy, it will be amusing to hold President Obama to his own promises – especially the one that if Congress passed his $787 Billion Stimulus bill (aka “Porkulus”), unemployment would never rise above the curve that his economic advisor, Christina Roemer, promised: #FAIL. I liked what Don Surber wrote: It’s the chart that makes liberals … Read more

“New Hampshire politics just threw a wrench into this,” Heck, I wish it was the final nail…

No, not as in this picture:

Transcontinental railroad last spike

This one:

Last Nail In the Coffin

Headline:  Executive council derails rail study

Railroads, at least passenger ones, are a waste of time and a waste of taxpayer money.  Face it – the rolling stock is old, the infrastructure sucks, and even in the best place in the country, the Northeast Corridor where the Acela runs, there are often delays, malfunctions, and now the TSA wants to start doing security there as well.  In addition, Acela’s and The Downeaster’s (which runs from Maine through NH to Mass) parent, Amtrak run on huge taxpayer subsidies.  Like this (US DOT data from Jan 2011):

Subsidy

Occupancy Fare / Per
City State Train Name % Trip Trip

Portland ME Downeaster 19.6 $14.07 $19.49

.

See that?  Taxpayers have to subsidize more than 58% of a fare to make a go of it.  And yet, there are those that are proclaiming that this a roaring success!  And yet, there are some “stalled in the Golden Age of Railroad” politicians that even want to do more spending of “money of the more for the rides of the few”.  Glad to see this follow on has got these folk’s panties in a wad:

CONCORD — A $3.65 million contract to study a Concord-to-Boston rail line was rejected by the Executive Council Wednesday on a 2-3 vote.

Executive Councilors David Wheeler, Chris Sununu and Dan St.Hilaire all voted to oppose the project, which was favored by Nashua officials and rail advocates who had gone to Washington to secure the funding.

And the panty-wadder?

“New Hampshire politics just threw a wrench into this,” said Peter Hoe Burling, former chair of the state rail authority board.

The ease at which a birthright is given away for mere pills…but at least they were free?

My own interpretation of this cartoon is broader than Ramirez perhaps intended. It is not just forcing religious institutions to pay for contraception, etc., that is unconstitutional under the First Amendment. So, what does the State of NH say about “Using The Internet to Sell his Political Agenda On Your Time?”

NH Dept of ITComputer Use PolicyA follow on to Steve’s post: “Is A NH Public Employee Using The Internet to Sell his Political Agenda On Your Time?

Well, let’s start with the easy stuff.  First, many companies of “size” have strict regulations about what employees can and cannot do with computer equipment – and Internet access using that equipment. After all, it isn’t the employe’s as someone else (i.e., the owner, the stockholders, the taxpayers) ended up with less money in their pocket so that this equipment could be purchased, could be provisioned (e.g., sSo, does the State of NH have such a document?  InDEED it does!

In fact, there are several, very specific restrictions on what / how State of NH Employees can do with State owned computer equipment and networks – and Internet access.  It also seems that each employee has to sign it to show that they have read the document (and, hopefully, understand it:

2   ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
YOUR SIGNATURE AND INITIALS ARE REQUIRED AT THE END OF THIS DOCUMENT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS POLICY.

I would assume, given that Mr. De Seve is allowed the use of “Esq.” after his name  (as he is a lawyer), the he would understand that this puts a legal obligation on every employee within State Government.  Thus, anything he does (or doesn’t do) with State owned equipment paid for with taxpayer monies entrusted to his care are specifically enumerated within the policy (just like one of the SEIU Collective Bargaining Agreements he negotiated on behalf of the union with the State).

Once again, there is such a clause!

3     COMPUTER USE
The network and computer equipment are State of New Hampshire property and are to be used for State business purposes only.

Just thought I’d bold that part – makes it easier to follow along here in pointing out the important stuff.  And yes, this is important!  And if that wasn’t clear enough, being a Government document, it goes into more excruciating detail:

No, it’s not about “slut”; it’s just the next excuse for the Left to silence another Conservative voice that stands for Freedom and Liberty

Capital OneUpdate and Bumped:  Well, I just saw over at Michelle Malkin’s place that Capital One has pulled their ads.  Well, I have just “pulled (re: cancelled) my credit card with them.  And TMEW will be doing the same later on today.  My message to the polite young lady (who said she’s been getting MORE than a few calls similar to mine) is: “put the ads back, and I’ll come back.  Not until – pass that upward to the Chuckleheads upstairs”.)

————————————————–

Just as it isn’t about getting free contraceptives – it’s about standing up for the Constitution.  Slutgate is the excuse for the Left’s faux outrage to pummel a single person – but that is the distraction the Left wants you to believe.  It is not about civility – the Left has spewed far more vile at far more women on the Right over far more years.  Why?  To insult and to intimidate those on the Right, to force us to think that it is time for us to dejectedly leave the field of political / philosophical battle on our own.  And then they win and then they have a clear road to continue to dismantle the Rights given to us by our Creator.  To Progressives, ‘inalienable Rights” are simply an alien idea that has to be put down – for they have no God but Bigger Government.  Freedom is what they would have us believe we get from men – in the political scene, they wish to believe  they have the right to act as gods to determine how we shall run our lives.

And we see them, via Media Matters (funded by George Soros) and Van Jone’s Color of Change working behind the scenes, trying to achieve the real goal – seeing their political opportunity to silence Rush Limbaugh.  Thus far, they (the tip of the spear of the Left, to give them their due) have convinced 22 advertisers to leave Rush Limbaugh.  They have orchestrated a massive turnout of emails and calls to those companies to “leave Rush, or we leave you”: 400,00 have signed a petition to get Rush yanked.

Steve said it was time to stand a post(“I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post.“); our Founders did far, far more.  Well, my friend, Warner Todd Huston (he who can be seen almost at every big site), has weapons for you to wield: he has compiled the contact list, your WEAPON, for you to do the same as what the Left has done:

I AM WOMYN, HEAR ME…………………beg

“Please, Daddy Government, may I have some more condoms and Pills?”

How debasing to have to ask Government for a handout to engage in the most intimate of sexual relations?  This gives lie to the idea that Progressives and Feminists want Big Government out of their bedrooms.  Nay, they are inviting them in!  After all, if Government cannot make those evil companies and churches give me a pregnancy and STD experience, well, I need to beg some more.

It used to be “hear me ROAR”, right?  Sandra Fluke and those supporting her, while thinking they are using their outside voices, are really whimpering: “please provide for my needs”.  Strong, independent, able to provide for themselves and the ability to compete equally against men?  Wasn’t that the original point of feminism – the Matriarchy rising above Patriarchal society?

But isn’t this just a whole charade with Sandra Flake?  You have this “reproductive justice” advocate, picking a religious Law school deliberately to be an agent provocateur to get free stuff KNOWING that it was against their theology – but perhaps this is not their ” moment in the sun”she and her fellow travelers think it is?  Maybe, is the “full circle” moment?  From Oppressed to Freedom to Oppression, for if you have to beg for stuff from Government for a roll in the hay, you are not free.  Dependency is never free – not even from the Progressive “Freedom from Want”, for as Communism /Socialism has shown us, The Bigger the Government, the smaller the citizen.  Given the backdrop of a $16 Trillion debt, it is clear that their selfishness to assuage their urges have addled any financial sense they have.  It is the ME generation on steriods – you MUST give to me, even as I prostrate myself to Government.

Good going, dudettes – you swapped one Master for another – happy now?  Or do you even realize it?

Reduced to begging.  Does that make the Feminists the “useful idiots” of Progressives who are ALL about central control, who do not trust citizens with their own freedom, and who must be dancing in the halls thinking “hey, we got another group dependent on us!”  Who are all about taking away our precious Liberty and go back to the Oppression that reigned over most before the Declaration of Independence, all in the name of Equality (like the French Revolution worked out well) ).

Slut:
