US Dept. Of Education Will No Longer Bar Religious Schools From Qualified Federal Funds

New Hampshire Democrats have been shouting themselves blue in the face about ‘public money’ going to religious schools through private scholarships. First, that’s not public money. Second, even if it were the state cannot categorically deny funding based on religion. The Trinity Lutheran Church decision made that clear. And The US Department of Education agrees. It will … Read more

Public Education Money Pit

DoE Money pit - Obama and Duncan keep shoveling it into the bottomless holeGeorge Bush 43 doubled the budget at the Department of Education over eight years to roughly $32 billion.  Barack Obama more than double it again with the only bloated budget the Democrat congress ever dared to pass.

That first Obama budget increased spending at the Department from Education from $32 billion per year in 2009 to $71,000,000,000.00 (Billion) per year by 2011.   That works out to over $400 million more dollars spent per school day nationally (assuming 180 days of school), in addition to all the state or local taxes you also pay for public education.  And Obama want’s more.  For what you ask?

That Rich Bastard Who Is Screwing The Teachers Over Is Actually…

There is a graphic going around, no doubt becasue of the OWS class-warfare hippy-fest, that asks why we wold cut teachers pay 20% instead of asking millionaires to give a little more.    This is of course dishonest on several levels.

A few quick observations. No one is asking teachers to give up 20% of their wages and I challenge anyone who pays school taxes to find me an example of it.  The job creators already front 70% of all taxes from which teachers are paid so if anyone needs to pony up it is the rest of us.  And most importantly, the problem isn’t the wealthy it is the federal government.  Since Obama took office the Department of Education’s budget has gone from 35 Billion a year (That’s BILLION), to 70 Billion. ($70,000,000,000.00).  That’s 389 million per school day if you run on a 180 day calendar.

The rich bastard that is screwing teachers is not on Wall Street.  The richest bastard of all is the US Government’s Department of Education.

Obama to Blame if Social Security Checks Withheld

President Obama recently tried to scare seniors by claiming that he wasn’t sure social security checks could be sent to seniors unless Republicans raise the debt ceiling on his terms.  This, of course, is a lie.

On average every month the US Treasury collects about $186 billion.
Social security payments are about $49.2 billion monthly.  Even adding Medicare and Medicaid costs ($50 billion), military salaries ($2.9 billion), interest on the national debt ($29 billion), Veterans affairs funding ($2.9 billion), and federal employee salaries and benefits ($14.2 billion), there is almost another $40 billion left for other programs.
