Story About Leveling Reagan Chicago Apartment For Obama Library – “Utterly Inaccurate”

Obama Library not definitely going to be in chicagoland
Would Obama Library be safer in Beirut?

Maybe you heard the tale?   A Washington Times Communities article (also reported by Newsmax) suggested that the University of Chicago, which owns the Chicago apartment property of former President Ronald Reagan, was planning to demolish it to make way for a parking lot for the Obama Library.  According to the people dedicated to preserving that property, that is not true.

The claim published in Newsmax today and the Washington Times on Friday, re-posted in Drudge, that the University of Chicago is planning to demolish the Reagan home at 832 E. 57th Street to make way for a parking lot for the Obama Presidential Library is utterly inaccurate, according to informed sources in Hyde Park.

Join the UAW! Smoke Dope, Drink Beer While You Work!

“Stupidity combined with arrogance and a huge ego will get you a long way.” Chris Lowe

You can’t make this stuff up! “Whistle Smoke Dope, Drink Beer While you work!” Thirteen UAW auto workers have been reinstated with back pay after being fired when they were caught drinking and smoking dope on break. This from today’s Union Leader: “MANCHESTER — A 76-year-old Korean War veteran was mugged Monday morning in a city alley, losing his wallet to an assailant who ripped it, literally, from his pants.” With the article is a picture of the victim, Chuck Wiggin, with a bandage on the side of his head. Is This Discrimination?

From the nice folks at Yahoo News, we are asked to consider if screening applicants based on a past criminal record should be considered a form of discrimination? Employers, having a massive advantage in available workers, are coming under scrutiny for what might otherwise go unnoticed if there were not five potential employees for each available job–this according to Yahoo News. With so many people out of work any kind of screening becomes news-worthy. So screening out ex-cons may be discriminatory and a waste of natural resources.
