House Democrats including Pappas and Kuster on Wednesday blocked the consideration of HB 5594. The bill prohibits domestic support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. The bill itself says it is to impose additional prohibitions relating to foreign boycotts.
The ACLU, National Action Network, Center for Popular Democracy, and others are mad at Democrats, including Chris Pappas and Annie Kuster. The US House recently advanced legislation they claim, “promises continued over-criminalization and mass incarceration of people of color.”
Democrats sat on their hands as President Trump rattled off historical gains and record-breaking economic improvements for minorities in America. That’s not new, by the way. If you search their congressional web pages you won’t find a word about any of it.

Congressman Chris Pappas owns the Puritan Backroom Restaurant in Manchester, New Hampshire. In late November, 18 people contracted intestinal issues later identified as Norovirus. Not one local news outlet identified Congressman Pappas’ restaurant as the source in their reporting.
