The sad story of the same suspect Republicans endorsing Democrats – what will the Party do?

by Skip

Once again, like with almost any election in NH, the same names, the same sorry passel of Progressive Republicans (yes, there are Progressives that call themselves Republicans.  HOW they can do that intellectually as Progressivism is antithetical to the beliefs stated in the NH GOP Platform), the same RINOs, the same folks that couldn’t recognize a conservative Principal if it bit in the ankles, pop up in support of Progressive Democrats.  At least the latter belong in the proper Party – these should consider a move:

Democrat Chris Pappas has announced that more than 100 Republicans and Republicans-turned-independents from across the First Congressional District are supporting his bid to represent them, including several from Central New Hampshire. “Republicans for Chris Pappas” include Liz Hager and Robert Joseph of New Hampton, Alida Millham, Peter Millham, Richard Coggon, and Donna Gaudet Hosmer of Laconia, Marlene Woodaman of Meredith, and Richard Thayer of Wolfeboro.

I’ve bolded my three “locals” but first, what is the official statement of the NH GOP?  Let’s review their own bylaws:

When you put the cross-hairs on yourself, Alida….

From the Laconia Daily Sun:

Millham declines nomination to GOP committee amid criticism of her endorsements of Dems

Yep.  This headline pretty much sums it up, eh?  This could have fit as well: “Milham finally dropkicks herself out of bounds“.

…However, later she recalled that conservatives targeted moderates in GOP primaries and, describing herself as “one of the targeted people,” urged her listeners “to take a look at how people in the partite [sic] are treated. ” Quoting economist Paul Romer, she remarked “a crisis s a terrible thing to waste” before taking her seat to scattered applause.

And I chose not to waste it, Alida. Regular readers of the ‘Grok know that she has graced (disgraced?) the pages of the ‘Grok multiple times – I have followed her votes and made sure that she (along with others in my formerly larger district like Peter Bolster and Doc Pilliod) were well recognized for their votes that enlarged (and never lessened) the size and scope Government, and showed the arrogance of the State making decisions where individuals should be making them instead.  Her philosophy is not that of govt as umpire…but as ruler.

Sure she was targeted – but she was far from being the innocent victim that she wants people to believe she was.  She wanted to be able to vote the way she wanted (pretty much against party principles and platform) without having that dreaded word “accountable” dragged out of the dictionary.  Sorry, Alida, but decisions (and votes) have consequences and you manufactured this one all by your lonesome – I merely shined a flashlight on it.

So, RINO Republican Alida Milham of Gilford decides to endorse the Democrat in the race – instead of the Conservative Republican in the NH House race

by Skip

To regular readers of the ‘Grok, this should have come as no surprise at all – in fact, this is almost expected (think Ray Burton in drag.  Or is that the other way around?  I dunno, all RINOs not only talk and vote alike, they seem to look alike….) as she has won our RINO of the Week award in the past.  This is what happens when the Republican Party Leadership (such as it is) continues to do head-in-the-sand reactions when Democrats-with-Rs-next-to-their-name sully the Republican Party brand.  Oh, I’ll ask the Belknap County Chair, and I’ll ask the Area Vice-Chair (a two-fer, in this case) and I will ask the NH GOP Chair for what they will do, but I bet I already know the outcome of doing such – words, maybe even a lot of words, but in the end, it’s back to a mush muddle of middlingness madness of self-denial.  I would use Jim Bender’s magnificent phrase of “self-assured incompetence” but that seems to be a bar too high for this crop.

So, Alida has seen fit to endorse someone that openly financially threatened the entire Town of Gilford simply because voters would vote Her Highness’s spending ways?  Yup.  Way to go, Alida – endorse not the person who wants you to keep your own money and make your own decisions, but someone who had no problem DEMANDING that others pay for her demand.  To wit, Lisa DiMartino, NH Democrat Extremist from the Town of Gilford.  She wants to go to Concord to spend your money.  She says so herself – and RINO Alida agrees.

GrokTV Event: Belknap County Republican Committee “Contested Primaries” – US Congress

by Skip

This past Wednesday nite was the monthly Belknap County Republican Committee (“BCRC”) meeting.  I’ve missed the last few but only because there has been so many different meetings in so many places on Wednesday nites lately, I’ve gone to some of those “one time only’s” vs something that is there like a clock.  This month, however, was different than most.  Instead of the standard monthly mantra of one or two “special” speakers,   it was devoted to giving those candidates that are in contested primary races (i.e., a higher number of Republicans running for a lesser  number of available seats) here in Belknap County.  Each race had all of the Candidates come up and talk, and answer questions from the audience if there were some.  Here is Rick Parent, running to be the US Congressman from NH First Congressional District (his competitors were no shows):

Sidenote: Unfortunately, in what I felt was an overblown adherence to the so-called 11th Commandment (which generally is invoked to protect the guilty by those that can’t stand waves), MY questions were crumpled up and thrown away for being ‘too divisive in a public forum” by the BCRC Chair, Alan Glassman; I will be post them on the appropriate videos so that you may judge…oh heck, here they are:
