If YOU think employers should be paying a “living wage” by manipulating the minimum wage, go ahead and start your own company and pay MORE than that minimum wage. Go ahead, I dare you.
Progressives initially conceived of the idea of a minimum wage as a way to weed unskilled minorities out of the population. It still works. Low income, unskilled workers are always hit hardest, but even in the current climate (riots, protests, systemic racism), NH Democrats passed a mandatory minimum wage bill anyway.
The economy under Donald Trump is setting records. Record low unemployment for minorities, and (well) just about everyone. Wages up, take-home pay up, disposable income up. State’s like NH have more jobs than people to fill them. And it is a climate where Democrat policies can still kill jobs.
