MANCHESTER, NH November 6, 2025–Jason Paige, the Memorial High School history teacher who literally sang and danced for joy after the murder of conservative thought leader and civil rights activist Charlie Kirk, is no longer employed by the Manchester School District. Girard at Large received the following statement issued by Superintendent Jennifer Chmiel late Thursday afternoon, presumably in response to our inquiry on October 31, the date by which she said the investigation into his conduct would be completed:
The Manchester teacher who allegedly made controversial comments in the classroom has notified the school district of his intent to retire. The reason given for the retirement was for the teacher to pursue other opportunities. The teacher had been employed by the district for the past 24 years. The investigation into the matter was not complete at the time the district received the notice of retirement. The district has no further comment.
Chmiel confirmed that the retirement was effective immediately, in response to our request for that information.
As first reported by us, to Chmiel, Paige not only sang and danced happily at the news, but also defamed Kirk to students in several classes, accusing him of advocating for the execution of transgender individuals and claiming he was a Nazi, among other despicable comments. Parents were outraged by his conduct, with some threatening to pull their children from his classroom if he wasn’t removed.

Paige also made an inflammatory social media post after the assassination attempt on the life of President Donald Trump, urging the next person to “aim better.”
Girard at Large has filed a Right to Know request asking to obtain the district’s investigation, in light of a recent NH Supreme Court decision that squarely supported the proposition that the public’s right to know about a district’s findings in such cases outweighted the privacy rights of the individual who was investigated. Chmiel has yet to respond to that request and has consistently refused to provide any information as to who conducted the investigation or how it was being conducted, asserting she was unable to respond because it was a “personnel matter.”
