MANCHESTER, NH September 12, 2025–A history teacher at Memorial High School in Manchester has celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk in his classes. According to information received by Girard at Large early yesterday evening and shared on the Girard at Large TV show, Jason Paige is reported to have rejoiced in the political slaying of Kirk. According to www.opengovpay.com, Paige earns over $85,000 per year. In 2011, Paige had a run-in with the law on animal cruelty charges.

According to sources, on September 11, the day after Kirk was murdered during an event he hosted at Utah Valley University, Paige told students that Kirk was a “fake” and a “liar” and “not who he proclaimed to be.” He accused Kirk of “wanting” transgendered individuals “to be executed,” and sang “Charlie got shot” over and over again, as some sort of refrain, to the music from a news program that was on TV in the classroom.
Following last night’s TV show, Girard at Large emailed this information to Superintendent Jennifer Chmiel with a request for a comment. She replied, “Given this is the first report I am hearing, we will open a review tomorrow.” He also said it was “silly” for flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Kirk

After sending that inquiry, Girard at Large received additional information about things done to mock Kirk’s murder, including that, when students asked to go to the bathroom, Paige asked them if they “shot Charlie.” Paige allegedly asked one student if he had “a pair of glasses, a black hat, and was in Utah yesterday,” before excusing him.
This information was forwarded to Chmiel immediately thereafter. She did not reply.
This morning, Girard at Large received a picture showing that the American flag at Memorial High School (picture above) had not been lowered to half staff, despite orders issued by Governor Kelly Ayotte and President Donald Trump.
This was also forwarded to Chmiel with a request to know why it had not been lowered and a request for comment on the information regarding Paige before publication. A half hour later, Chmiel sent this reply:
We are aware of allegations of inappropriate behavior related to a teacher in our district.
We take these matters seriously and swiftly initiated an internal investigation.
The district condemns any and all notions that violence is an appropriate response to political and social disagreements.
She also “confirmed” that both flags at Memorial had been lowered to half-staff. We replied with the following questions:
What findings, if any, have you come to? If none yet, by when do you expect to conclude the investigation? What will be released to the public about those findings and any actions taken by the district? Were the flags lowered after I made my inquiry or before? I have photographic evidence that they were up at the time I emailed you, alongside photos of the flag at MST that was at half staff.
We will update this article with any responses.
What we expect
What should happen, aside from confronting Paige with this information, is that administrators should interview every student in Paige’s classes to find out what he said to whom and when. We don’t expect they will do that and we have no idea what Paige will say when confronted with this information. Whatever information they obtain, we doubt they will publicly disclose the results of any “investigation,” citing privacy protections for public employees.
In April, the school district became embroiled in a controversy after parents went public about a DEI lesson their student received at McLaughlin Middle School entitled the “Wheel of Power and Privilege.” The district refused any comment following a brief statement it issued, citing personnel privacy and its investigation. If that investigation has come to a conclusion, the district has not released its findings to the public. We expect the same here, though we note that if parents of Paige’s students demand action, the district might be forced to correct his behavior and appropriately sanction it.
What you can do
This is an election year, and most incumbents are running for reelection and facing opposition. This provides a unique opportunity for citizens to press the school board to take action against a teacher who made these loathsome comments. Paige is a history teacher. As such, he should understand the intrinsic evil that comes from “dehumanization.” History is replete with atrocities that come after people are “dehumanized.” Letting your school board members know of your displeasure with such behavior is a must, lest they think it’s ok or you’re ok with it.
Commentary
Rejoicing at the political assassination of another person, accusing him of things that aren’t true, and mocking his murder by asking students if they killed Charlie to get a bathroom pass is dehumanizing and beneath contempt. Singing “Charlie got shot” to background music is macabre. It’s demented. It’s sick. Aside from wondering just how he frames the history he teaches, a person who exhibits this sociopathic behavior has no business in the classroom and should be far removed from anything having to do with teaching children. He should be fired, and, unless it’s been removed, there’s a “moral turpitude” clause in the teacher’s contract that would enable it.
