MANCHESTER, NH. September 16, 2025–Responding to our earlier reports (Manchester history teacher trashes, mocks Charlie Kirk after assassination – updated and Manchester teacher who cheered Charlie Kirk Assassination also posted about attempt on Trump’s life Jason Paige”…a teacher pushing hate into these kids minds”) about the conduct of Memorial High School history teacher Jason Paige, more students and their parents have come forward to share what happened in their classrooms following the execution of Christian conservative civil rights leader and Free Speech advocate Charlie Kirk. Meanwhile, Superintendent Jennifer Chmiel has failed to reply to any questions regarding the investigation into Paige’s conduct.
Telling Girard at Large that “one of our biggest fears is that he (Paige) goes back into the classroom and does whatever” after the district’s investigation, at least one parent has said their child will be removed from Paige’s class. “If the school board does nothing and he’s back, [the student’s] going to transfer out,” When asked why, the student said, “he sounded happy about Kirk’s death. He was so excited about it. It was weird, disturbing, If he comes back, it’s just going to be him being mad because he was told on. The class will be more on his focus than world history,” worried the student.
The student told Girard at Large that as class began, Paige proclaimed, “Your favorite Nazi is dead!” He then went on to accuse Kirk of saying he “wouldn’t get on a plane if a black person was flying it” and essentially called Kirk a Holocaust denier for equating it to the evil of abortion. After a few minutes, he went on to the day’s lesson, which was about chimpanzees and included a video of a woman who had her face ripped off by a chimp. The student also reported friends in other classes of Paige’s said he was “dancing after singing ‘Charlie got shot.’” Girard at Large had previously confirmed and reported this information in prior reports, except for his dancing.
How did students react, we asked. “They just sat there. I’m not sure how many were even paying attention to him,” the student said, explaining that all Paige does is walk around and talk, without asking students any questions. “He just talks the whole period about random stuff, then we leave.”
Said the parent.
“I want him gone! He said really disturbing things about someone being killed and I don’t want him teaching my child about world history. I don’t trust he’s going to teach it right. What’s he going to do when he gets to World War II and the real Nazi’s? Is he going to throw Charlie into that?”
The parent went on to say that maybe she didn’t need to worry about how that would be taught because the history class has been focusing on “monkeys” and she didn’t understand how they were involved with world history.
Asked about the academic content of the class, the student’s answer echoed information previously provided to but not reported by Girard at Large. “Charles Darwin. Lots of kids in class are Christian and Catholic, and it feels like he’s pushing Evolution on them.” The student said Paige presents Evolution and other things, like the Big Bang, “as fac,t not theory.” In another interview, a different student said Paige “presented Evolution as fact.”
The family provided Girard at Large with screenshots of their assignments and the course description. In doing so, they noticed that the picture of Paige that had been in their student portal had been removed. (Graphic atop this article) The student did not remember what photo was there beforehand. They also said that an assignment was due on Friday requiring students to write about a “historical event” that happened since they were born.
In reviewing the student-provided materials and comparing them to what could be found on the district’s website, it is unclear whether Paige is following the Manchester School District’s curriculum or doing his own thing. Either way, one would have to wonder why the topics provided would be considered “history.” It would also seem, since the world’s wars are on the topic list, that the parent is right to be concerned about whether Paige is “going to throw Charlie into [the Nazis].”
Aside from acknowledging our Right to Know request regarding the district’s communications with any and all schools regarding the lowering of flags and attempting to implicate the district’s custodial contractor in the failure to lower the flag at Hillside, Superintendent Chmiel has not responded to several questions regarding Paige’s conduct or the investigation into it. Still unanswered or unacknowledged are:
- What will be done to compensate for Principal Brendan McCafferty’s failure to lower the flag at Hillside?
- Will students from all of Paige’s classes be interviewed about what he said?
- What is the scope of your investigation?
- Do you have a status on the investigation?
- What findings, if any, have you come to?
- If none yet, by when do you expect to conclude the investigation?
- What will be released to the public about those findings and any actions taken by the district?
- Were the flags lowered at Memorial after I made my inquiry or before?
We will continue to press for answers to these questions. We will also continue to report any new information received from parents, students or staff familiar with Jason Paige’s behavior in this matter or others involving his classroom conduct. If you have any information to this end, please email me at Rich@GirardatLarge.com.
