NH Republican Legislator Gets 100% Rating from Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund bragged on their Facebook page that Salem, NH, Republican Rep. Susan Vandecasteele received a 100% rating for her support of “reproductive health.” She is the only Republican to receive that rating on PP’s 2026 NH House scorecard.

NH Republican reps Dale Girard and Matthew Coker both received a score of 75%, but they only recently switched from the Democratic Party, so it is no surprise they have some bad voting habits. No other NH Republican rep scored higher than 60%.

PP scored Rep. Vandecasteele 100% for the following votes.

She voted to pass HB 2, Amendment 2025-1501h on 4/10/25 to add the NH Family Planning
Program back into the state budget. This provides taxpayer funds to Planned Parenthood, which can use those funds to lease and pay the utilities and staff at the facilities where they perform abortions.

She voted to kill HB 232 on 1/8/26, which would have given healthcare workers the right to conscientiously object to participating in providing abortion, sterilization, or artificial contraception services.

She voted to kill HB 1313 on 3/11/26, which would have repealed the unconstitutional buffer zone law that allows private abortion businesses to designate up to 25 feet of the public street and sidewalk outside their facility entrances as no-free-speech zones.

She voted to kill HB 1416 on 3/12/26, which would have prohibited the state and municipalities from requiring pregnancy resource centers to perform abortions, provide contraception, or refer clients for those services.

She voted to kill HB 232 on 5/20/26, which would have allowed healthcare workers to file a complaint with the NH Attorney General if they were forced to perform abortions against their conscience.
