One of my favorite Simpsons sound bytes is when Principal Skinner is on stage for a ceremonious event and says “thank you and I will now take pre approved questions from honor roll students.” What enamors me is that it predates the institution of memes and social media by decades and it speaks truth about how questions AND COMMENTS by both private citizens and public officials are commonly subject to approval. The question of who gets to do the pre approval is a discussion for another time.
I first started sharing the Skinner sound byte after my first and only time attending “Coffee with the Mayor,” later also known as “Java with Jim,” in December 2019. This was a month after Kelly Ayotte’s mayor was reelected without having an opponent and I had some important questions about NTU electioneering that unlawfully led to the removal of Doris from the school board. Unfortunately, the name of the event had deceived me into thinking it was a venue where a commoner like me could have access to the mayor when it was essentially just a routine meeting of his fan club. Seeing that Goodlander had pretended to live in Nashua, that made Donkness THEIR mutual mayor. Our governor is Goodlander’s CONSTITUENT and so is the governor’s mayor, even though Goodlander no longer needs to pretend to reside at 44 High St.
Having been the attorney general and being elected governor on a campaign platform of law and order, loving the law and supporting law enforcement, it would stand to reason that she would say something as the head of our state government when the law is being broken. One would think. On top of that, she is also a military wife and mother. You might already see where I am going with this.
Goodlander’s recent seditious behavior has almost everyone talking; our side, their side, private citizens, public servants, veterans, current military and civilians alike. Interestingly, our governor has not said one word about this current event in the public square and neither has that OTHER mayor, Jay Ruais. While Ruais is not a constituent of Goodlander, he’s the mayor of the largest city and he’s also a soldier. His silence is as noticeable as the governor’s and we all know darn well that he has already been selected by the political elite and its accomplices in the state cabal to replace her when it’s time for her to move on. I’ve written about Ruais earlier this month and I’m mentioning him again because he’s a huge disappointment in many ways and I expect him to keep on being a disappointment to everyone but the prognosticators. Just like the governor, Ruais is selective in what he says at the mic, at the keyboard and in press releases.
I encourage readers to think about what is being said by the governor and the presumptively selected future governor, how often it’s being said, sometimes ad nauseam, and what is NOT being said. And among what’s not being said, please consider how helpful Sexton, Landrigan and the rest of the media circus are being in selectively doing their jobs so those two can clam up with very little attention. Can they think for themselves? Can they speak for themselves? Does what they say have to be pre approved by their handlers? You tell me.
