As Jeanne Shaheen fights to grow the national debt just a bit larger before she “retires,” her daughter Stefany has announced she wants to replace Chris Pappas in New Hampshire Congressional District one.
The ink has barely dried on her announcement, and Stefany Shaheen is already demonstrating her capacity to lie about where she stands. After initially refusing to say whether she would oppose boys competing in girls’ sports because she had not yet announced her candidacy, she now believes it should be decided on a case-by-case basis. Bullshit. No one on the left is going to take a measured approach to an issue they’ve peddled for years as a matter of human rights, not on the New Hampshire Left or the Congressional left.
Everything she says now has to be filtered through this context, but with one caveat. She is the dynasty candidate but has to get elected by Democrats in a primary against carpet-bagger Maura Sullivan. It is a race with a lot of popcorn potential. The Shaheen machine will be buying local media narratives, such as reports on Shaheen’s favorable polling, and all that. Sullivan has her work cut out for her, so it might just get nasty.
Regardless of that, neither of them is good for New Hampshire, but Stefany is descended from a generational threat to America. While Jeanne ran in 2008, in objection to skyrocketing budgets, her tenure has seen it more than triple.
The debt was (roughly) 10.4 trillion when she stepped onto the Senate floor in 2009. It is now 37 trillion. The debt service is set to exceed the total bloated annual defense budget. It is a weight of responsibility so significant that it will act as a tax on Stefany’s daughter, whom she can’t shut up about, her grandchildren, and very likely her great-grandchildren. Granny Shaheen’s ideological priority was to spend the future, and she did. Stefany is cut from the same cloth.
Not only can New Hampshire families not afford another Shaheen in Congress, but neither can America. They can’t afford Sullivan or, God help us, Chris Pappas in the US Senate, either.
Mr. Trump’s counterrevolution has a very real chance at draining at least some of the swamp and all the spending it processes in what we now know was not in the best interests of Americans. Democrats are defending that abuse and at war with that transparency and accountability. They are at fiscal war with future generations. A tomorrow that can never be prosperous if we do not trim federal fat, move authority back to the states and the people, and set the nation on a more fiscally responsible path.
Democrats will never do it or allow it, and another Shaheen will just defend open borders, boys in girls’ sports and bathrooms, and the top-down culture of waste, fraud, and abuse.
Despite Stefany’s claims, there is no case-by-case basis for any top-down Dem Policy. She’s trying to carve out a moderating space that cannot exist on the Left.
And don’t be distracted when she tries to focus on public health and health care. Her party went full fascist, and she does not appear to have said a word in defense of your right to informed consent or health freedom.
