You’re looking at the menu, and there are just two choices. It’s beef and chicken, but you’re a vegetarian. You don’t want to starve, but what do you do? We’ve recently heard from two intelligent and very respectable people, Doris and Jose. Many of us are or were already familiar with the merits of their talking points about Kelly Ayotte, but let’s go a little deeper, shall we?
Before doing that, I will remind the readers that I voted for Chuck Morse, even though he voted the wrong way on that money, because the thought of an Ayotte regime was and still is disturbing. Now, we’re faced with the same situation, and starving is not an option. It reminds me of my dad’s lament from 10 years ago. He said, “Chuckles is a RINO, and I don’t want to vote for him,” to which I said, “But Dad, the Dem…” He then said he would write someone in. Charlie Baker’s opponent was Martha Coakley, the attorney general at the time. More on attorneys general in a moment, but I’ll start with Joyce Craig.
Since no intelligent person would voluntarily be pro-Joyce, let’s call a spade a spade and say “anti-Kelly” because being under duress can make people do desperate things. I am not going to rewrite Doris’s article or encourage anyone to vote for Joyce, but Jose’s article touches on the predictable and disastrous consequences of a Joyce regime should other things go wrong at the same time. What if we lose the House, the Senate, and the Executive Council? Seriously, all you have to do is look back to 2019 and 2020 because we had the “legislature from hell,” a bad executive council, and the Damn Emperor’s veto was the only thing keeping NH from being “Massed up.” The state line (on all three sides) is the dike, and Joyce will NOT assume the role of Hans Brinker.
I’m leaning towards thinking of the Corner Office as an investment in flood walls, and Jose respectfully presents his case in his article. However, there are some thoughts to consider in addition to his talking points. I mentioned attorneys general earlier, and it’s time to get back to them. I recently discussed Formella, whose appointment expires in April, and we don’t even know his career aspirations as he’s a seemingly quiet person, unlike some of his out-of-state counterparts. But enough with that office, let’s talk about judge appointments. Will Kelly stick it to her own city by appointing dirty judges? THIS, dear readers, is a very important question because Judge Temple and Judge Colburn’s days are numbered, and the filling of those vacancies will either expedite or obstruct the only remaining non-violent pathway to relief in HER CITY. The following has already been said; “There are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and cartridge. Please use in that order.” And what about cabinet appointments? Will we get more Shibinettes and Bettencourts? Who will be the successor to Frank Edelblut?
Moving on from appointments, let’s consider future bills. Will Kelly sign or veto a redo of HB 1093/1131, aka school mask policy bills? She has successfully avoided addressing them on the campaign trail yet here we are with her as the red offering. Remember that she shamelessly plans to carry on a 5th term of a Sununu regime. With all due respect to Jose, I am not convinced that she will cut the crap after being elected, but let’s consider some more bills. What about HB 396? When that bill was vetoed, Chuck Morse wasted no time in inviting our next legislature to resubmit it to his desk. There’s also the Gunstock audit attempt, aka HB 1414, that is worthy of resubmission. I tried to get fellow attorney and local Gunstocker Norm Silber to corner her with that question, but he was too polite a gentleman to act like a dog with a bone. Will Kelly carry on the bidding of the Damn Emperor? I really hope I’m wrong, but I think she will, so I have respectful questions for Jose and anyone embracing his talking points.
Suppose Kelly gets elected and does carry on His Excellency’s bidding. Will people voting for her in this election be willing to support a primary against her in 2026? Will a viable candidate appear as her opponent? I ask everyone to consider the “three-legged stool of project management.” For those unfamiliar, the legs are time, quality, and money. When one of those things is lacking, the other two must make up for it. Kelly is already on thin ice in my mind right now. How many transgressions will voters accept, and what is the deadline for “deciding to fire her(unleashing that viable primary opponent)?” Voters would be wise to think about that BEFORE the election.
Either way, the vegetarian menu is still beef and chicken. Choose wisely.
