In my previous post, I had decided to follow up on Steve’s news that the NH Attorney General’s Office had demanded that Shirley Doheny resign her position of Town Clerk due to multiple voting irregularities that she was responsible for overseeing. I decided to see if she had already followed through and resigned as of Wednesday (the deadline was for yesterday/Friday at the time of this writing) and the Town Manager responded thusly (emphasis mine):

Skip,
Town Clerk Doheny has not submitted her resignation as of this writing. It is my understanding she intends to do so on Thursday 8/8 when the office closes (which is 7:00pm).
Best,

Well, fine and dandy except for one thing. Today, at the time of this writing, it is Saturday morning (8/10). If she had resigned as explained, why is this still not updated? It’s not like the Town didn’t have any prior warning, right?
Well, one of two things, then. Either she hasn’t resigned in thinking that she will fight the AG’s office in court or the Town decided to do the finger in the eye or the Town is a bit sloppy in keeping things up to date. Those are about the only things I can think of.
Guess I’ll email James on Monday to find out if it is merely the latter reason. Otherwise, this really will be a continuing story!
