Matty Wilhelm, the Leader of the New Hampshire House Democrats, tweeted a rejection of political violence after the failed assassination attempt on Trump. It strikes me as one of those things Communists say only because they feel that that they have to say it, but don’t mean.
Matty Wilhelm implicitly denies any link between the Democrats unhinged, insane, over-the-top Trump-is-Hitler, democracy-is-on-the-ballot, Trump-is-a-fascist, etc., etc., etc. rhetoric and the assassination attempt. That, of course, is DISHONEST. You don’t get to repeatedly compare Trump to one of history’s most notorious mass-murderers and then pretend that your rhetoric isn’t responsible for the assassination attempt.
IF Matty really opposed political violence, he would have denounced the Hitler, fascist, etc. comparisons and called upon the NH-Democrats he leads to cease the insane, dangerous rhetoric. That he did NOT tells you what Matty really thinks about political violence.
