Talk about a double tap. We’ve got illegal immigrants committing crimes, Americans most certainly will do, while simultaneously proving there is massive fraud in the Medicaid System. If I recall correctly, before caving, Senate Democrats shut the government down, demanding that taxpayers give up their hard-earned dollars to provide health care to illegals.
That was corrupt ObamaCare, and that money was actually going into the very deep pockets of Big Insurance, but the parallels apply. Dems who are not in on the grift ignore it at your expense, and it’s billions of dollars annually.
It is an interesting tack for a party that is always whining about how there’s never enough of other people’s money to fund things that matter to them. Things like Big Insurance, criminals, kickbacks, fraud, waste, and abuse. They continuously advocate attempts to protect or excuse the abuses.
And while everyone is looking at Minneapolis, where criminal alien fraud has captured the Left’s attention (public schools are actually flying Somali flags in support of the criminal alien fraud), Maine is affirming its place on that corruption totem pole.
Taxpayers in Maine have been bilked out of millions of dollars from the state’s Medicaid program, according to a whistleblower who in an interview with NewsNation likened the case to a burgeoning scandal in Minnesota, where people in the Somali community are accused of defrauding taxpayers of $1 billion meant for social services.
The whistleblower, Christopher Bernardini, describes himself as a former “billing guru” of Gateway Community Services — a health services contractor that he says defrauded Maine’s Medicaid program. Bernardini worked for Gateway from May 2018 until April 2025 as a program coordinator.
The classic response from Democrats is ‘Well, we didn’t know.’ Or, for reasons they can’t explain, their army of regulators and functionaries missed it or couldn’t have caught it (underfunded, are they?).
Imagine how much more revenue might be available if you stopped looking the other way or, in some cases, stopped ruling like some third-world backwater where crime is acceptable if the bribes or kickbacks are adequate.
And to then object to the enforcement of laws you or your party passed or never repealed.
The Mills Administration has neglected obvious and credible reports of Somali-linked systemic fraud in the MaineCare system,” Harrington said. “This is an outrageous betrayal of Maine taxpayers.”

Those of us watching Maine chase Vermont into the cistern of commie corruption understand that this is but one of many issues.
Ali and Hussein both received lucrative no-bid contracts from the Mills Administration in February 2022 for the alleged purpose of hiring Community Health Outreach Workers (CHOWs). According to the contract documents, the outreach workers were empowered to buy groceries for potential voters, as well as sign them up for welfare, free fuel, and free health care. All the while, the groups were required to keep a database of the households and individuals who’d benefited from these services — a database that would amount to valuable intelligence for a left-wing political operation like COA.
In the run-up to the 2022 and 2024 elections, Maine agencies charged with public health awarded nearly $10 million to this network of non-profits. Other than top level connections with Democratic politicians and left-wing interest groups, these organizations shared in common one other key characteristic: the ability to quickly contact and mobilize groups of ‘new voters.’
I’m not seeing quite so many Ukraine flags on social media since the corruption and waste surrounding Zelenskyy have been exposed. A few but not many Somali flags, probably for similar reasons (Winooski being an exception). Hey, did Jim ‘Flag pole’ Donchess raise one in front of Nashua City Hall?
Any defense of this, in these contexts, is an admission that the goal is not to improve services for people in need but to fund likely constituent groups who will keep corrupt Democrats in power in exchange for looking the other way. The net effect is that law-abiding citizens of every age, sex, and race lose access to needed services. When the Woke Winnoski, Vermont School District chose to fly the Somali flag in protest, to celebrate Somali families and children in the broken, Marxist, enclave, they are enabling both the corruption and crime in Somalia, but here. A systemic issue that is harming women and children.
One more point. Many of these same proglodytes bitching about legal enforcement against illegal entry and fraud were more than willing to have you arrested or have public health officers and the police visit your house during COVID.
They have no objection to extra-legal home invasions by federal agents or law enforcement. They have no issue with targeting by group association, party, or whatever tribe they labeled you into.
Legal exercise of the same ought not be a problem for them either, and yet it is. Take notes. You’ll need them for next October before the midterms.
If you got stabbed or set on fire on a train, they’d take the criminal or immigrant’s side.
That’s who they are.
