On April 1, Federal Title X, family planning funds were frozen for Planned Parenthood Northern New England (PPNNE) facilities. $2 million in funds were frozen in Maine and $500,000 in New Hampshire.
The New Hampshire Executive Council stopped distributing Title X family planning funds to the PPNNE facilities four years ago because they provide abortions.
In October 2024, PPNNE and Planned Parenthood New Hampshire Action Fund finally appointed a CEO, Nicole Clegg, after not having one since April 2021, except for six months from September 2022 to February 2023. She had been the interim CEO, as well as serving on the leadership team, during the long three years they were leaderless. It appears that no one else wanted the job. PPNNE is closing another facility in June in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. This is the seventh facility they have closed since 2022, more than two a year. Nicole Clegg is overseeing the dismantling of the organization she has been appointed to lead.
