Speed is a significant factor in the likelihood of a motor vehicle fatality, but people speed every day. Some people can’t NOT speed, except when they know law enforcement is present. Shoplifters are like that too. It’s not racial inequality or colonialist oppression that makes them steal; it’s that they are thieves, likely trapped in a progressive ghetto doing business in a Democrat-run city.
Crime is the only path left for them to climb the economic ladder.
Democrats assuage their guilt about this by refusing to prosecute petty or minor crime, but that just makes inner-city circumstances worse while encouraging escalation to more violent acts. None of which has anything to do with speeding, necessarily, unless you’re a proglodyte stooge pining for the socialist utopia. [Related – Morning Update: Moron Zamdani]
Remember, you can vote your way into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out. And you’re going to want to get out. Remember, no cops, no prisons, open borders (except at Mamdani’s grocery stores). Papers please!
Socialism is stupidism.
Headline: Mamdani Blames E-Bike Sellers for Crisis He Refuses to Police.
“The City has issued cease-and-desist orders to 42 online retailers demanding they immediately stop selling these illegal devices to customers in New York City’s 175 ZIP codes,” the mayor’s office announced. “The products being marketed and shipped into the city exceed legal limits for speed, weight or other safety requirements and cannot lawfully be sold or operated on City streets.”
It’s the e-bike’s fault, and there’s no Constitutional Amendment protecting a right to those.
Another instance of the thing did it; therefore, we must ban the thing in the name of public safety. But government is by far the biggest threat to human rights and flourishing, and New York “voted” for Moron Zamdani and his lofty speeches about the warmth of collectivism. New York is full of Democrats, yet there are still allegations of irregularities.
Don’t worry. Once the DSA has secured control, dear leaders will win by unimaginable margins, and if you don’t cheer, someone will be visiting you to have a chat. And that’s ironic because the DSA says it wants to eliminate cops and prisons, ICE, and borders.
Ask them to name one socialist country without those things, but they can’t.
But that mantra is part of why Mamdani can’t do the obvious thing with regard to e-bike riders speeding about, hitting pedestrians and getting themselves killed. You’d need cops for that, and enforcement of laws. Mamdani is working toward more broken windows, not fewer, which is something Democrat mayors and city councils already do anywhere they have control. Not new.
They love it so much they get pissed if Mr. Trump wants to surge law enforcement into their shitty streets to restore order so non-criminals (taxpayers) can actually “walk the town” in the daylight without stepping in human feces, avoiding needles, bums, and homeless “camps,” or getting panhandled, mugged, robbed, or worse.
All of that is what you get now in the burgeoning socialist utopias.
We can add schools that can’t teach kids, streets that don’t get plowed, garbage that doesn’t get picked up, transportation infrastructure in collapse, and when confronted, the only answer they know is to blame someone else and demand more tax money.
Progressivism, socialism, and communism fail the people because they can’t do it any other way. There is no better version. They all did it right the first time, and you’re next if you let it happen.
The maxim against policing isn’t because it is unnecessary or oppressive; it’s so the government can grow an oppressive police state in the shadow of the chaos. Ideally nationwide, because Mamdani and his cadre of DSA losers can’t stop you from leaving. The experiment has to be from sea to rising sea, or you’ll leave.
Just ask New Yorkers.
Will the e-bike outrage move the needle? Probably not. Anyone who still has to live or work there has likely had an unpleasant encounter, so banning them might bring more cheers than jeers. That just proves the point. They will cheer until the Socialist Mayor comes for something important to them. The question is, will it, by then, be too late?
