MACDONALD: Lessons

I like to make fun of Republicans who think they can appease the democrat party and, by extension, New Hampshire’s “Five Families.” For the uninitiated, we use the term that described the infamous and controlling Mob families of New York to describe our “deep state.” It includes both parties and names like Shaheen and Sununu. And while the Democrats never try to make Republicans happy, Republicans can’t help themselves.

Even when it’s never enough.

Governor Ayotte vetoing seven bills to recognize biological sex under several scenarios won’t get the proglodytes to vote for her or support any of her priorities. Chris Sununu signing the bill that allowed men in women’s safe spaces years before was immediately met with, ” That’s not enough.

There are other examples, but overall, you won’t find similar ones on the left. But there is bipartisan interest. Neither side will allow anything to undermine the corruption in our court system, which needs the world’s biggest enema. From town and city courts to the unaccountable family court, all the way to the State Supreme Court, it’s a ruddy mess and getting worse.

And I’ve wandered off my own plantation.

Appeasement is not limited to Republicans attempting to pander to left-wing interests. Democrats pander to the left as well, from workaday Americans who vote Dem because it’s a passed-down family tradition to center-left capture; moderates who are terrified of being caught not voting for liberals.

Higher up the ladder, elected Democrats and party leadership find themselves forced to applaud threats not just to the Republic but themselves. In part because while their ideas are dim bulbs, Democrats who vote in primaries see them as bright lights. And why not? They have ideas.

The Democrat party doesn’t have any. They hate Trump and promise things anyone with an ounce of political sense would acknowledge them incapable of. Thankfully, the dim bulbs run the government schools, so a sense of any kind is difficult to come by, but this too has backfired. As the number of angry single liberal women displaces the previous generation (they had cuckolded husbands), the “education” has shifted to the more radical.

Summarized, the new party of the Left can’t be appeased by the party they are taking over. Their applause for DSA candidates is not much different from Republicans doing stupid things for Democrats, like not ripping the filibuster out of the Senate and ramming Republican-led legislation through it.

They don’t care. There is no seat for you at their stolen table. The best you can hope for is the American political system equivalent of Dhimmitude. Acquiescing on cable news or your Substack now and again in exchange for them keeping the mob off your doorstep – which doesn’t always work.

They are the terminators of the Republic, liberty, human flourishing, and every halfway measure you supported in a failed effort to appease them.

Ironically enough, this ought to be something the old-school Dems and the appeasing Republicans could agree on. Join forces to stop the DSA terminator. Sadly, they lack the backbone, which is why it is left to MAGA Republicans to do all the heavy lifting. Not to appease the panderers but to save the Republic, even if we have to save it for them.
