If you have any doubts about whether a minority of radicals can consume a movement to the degree that it drives the bus, and drives it over its own moderates, you could look at history. Islam, the National Socialist (NAZI) Party in Germany, the Bolsheviks. Cuba right before Castro, China before Mao, and the American Democrat Party before 2026.

There are no half measures when it comes to tyranny, and every revolution that included people hoping for a peaceful transition and a general acceptance of debate with the ruling framework discovered the unpleasant truth. Human nature, combined with any form of socialism, ends in violence and misery for everyone who isn’t in the ruling class.
Leftism doesn’t do half-measures well, and the Democrat party that tried is probably dead. What remains of its so-called moderates are under fire from the radicals it “trained,” under the false assumption that it would be able to keep them on a leash. [It’s making the exact same mistake with Islam, if you care]. They trained their dogs, pandered to their victimology, agitated them with violent rhetoric, triggered them with bombastic narratives, and they praised them for their anti-social behavior and often their violent and murderous deeds.
The DSA will come for Democrats before it comes for America, and that’s already started. Whether the Marxists dressed in Democrat-Socialist clothing will result in political regicide depends on whether the pretendian moderates bend the knee fast enough.
This outcome was, of course, inevitable, and I’ll juice that painfully obvious remark with this from Scott McKay at Spectator. org (a piece someone sent me after I’d written most of this and thought, wow, he’s saying the same things I am, and why isn’t this that obvious to the lefties).
So if Van Jones is alarmed by Gustavo Gordillo or Darializa Avila Chevalier, then the question to ask is “Why weren’t you alarmed by Liz Warren and Bernie Sanders? Where did you think that was going?
The Democrat Party program only ever had one conclusion, and you can see it in its various stages in Blue Cities and Blue States. You didn’t build that never goes away because their preferred form of government cannot survive alongside property rights or rights of any kind. They need to take your stuff to pay for what interests them, and you can’t be allowed to grouse, or it stirs up trouble they’ll have created a federal police state to suppress, including the old-school commies who weren’t ready to announce that was always the plan (if you’d not worked it out yourself).
None of this is new.
What interests them, by the way, isn’t Medicaid for all or free education or justice of any sort, be it social or any other. These are pavers placed on the path, breadcrumbs that lead into the trap. A state from which you cannot vote your way out. A left-wing political matrix where your labor is the battery, and you get very little else out of the relationship.
There is no left-wing middle. The Radical left is running the party, and the only safe path for the rest of them is to pretend so they get a seat at their table. This is the final form of democrat rule, and it always was, but the less radical, who are still so far left that President Kennedy would have viewed them as communists, have nowhere to go.
The radical alternative on the right, by the way, is no government, which is actually one of those steps on the left. Real communism isn’t possible without the destruction or neutering of every institution, which is what anarchy is. Anarchists insist human nature can survive this evolution to adopt a system of mutual exchange, but it does not appear to be scalable. Anarchy, that thing Communists need to achieve the true Marxist utopia, inevitably leads to strongman governments, which is what Communist rule looks like.
The true radical rightism is what the founders created. Limited federal power, maximal individual rights. The Bill of Rights. A moral responsibility to yourself, your family, and community, before any higher power, and an obligation to pass down the desire to secure them.
States’ sovereign rights as voice of the people, in a Constitutional Republic. People who have a government and not the other way around.
All the things Democrats viewed as a barrier to their preferred form of rule. All the things they wanted to do away with systematically that the DSA would like to do away with tomorrow.
Their alarm is not at the destination, but at the speed at which we should approach it. Democrat Socialists and Democrats want the exact same things. And while the DSA has the momentum to take over a city. It may not have the juice to consume a state (although California and New York are precariously close, as is Massachusetts). It does have the energy to kill the Democrat Party as well as itself.
A sort of murder suicide. Your vote can help. Show up and vote against them all in the midterms. Kick them all out of office, including any Democrat who claims to be moderate; they are either lying or a dangerous idiot. They will do nothing to stop the radicals should they achieve even a one-vote majority because the only principles these cowards have to stand on take them where the radicals are rushing to go.
Save America. Net Zero Dems in 2026.
Sure, freedom is risky. You have to work a little harder, and the commies won’t go quietly, but it’s better than being a battery in the political left’s increasingly violent, locked-down totalitarian matrix.
