That’s the headline courtesy of the Epoch Times. The CDC has been tracking a “human metapneumovirus,” which causes symptoms similar to those of other respiratory viruses.
Symptoms include cough, fever, and nasal congestion, and, unlike better-known respiratory viruses, HMPV does not have a vaccine or known treatments, the CDC stated.
“There’s no specific treatment that’s generally recommended,” Dr. Dean Blumberg, chief of pediatric infectious diseases at the University of California–Davis Children’s Hospital, said in a video released by the school.
So, sounds like a cross between the common cold (no known cure) and the flu (no known cure), and RSV is a thing these days (also no known cure), none of which has a vaccine that can be definitively defined as a cure. There are suggested treatments, but there is evidence that vaccines in this range of options can actually make it more likely you get sick or sicker.
Y’all see where I’m drivin’ the herd?
The CDC may be under new management, but its swamp is still filthy with stupid. And to be fair, this is actually just standard surveillance reporting. Hey, some folks here and here, and way over there, all seem to have similar symptoms, and it’ snot Monkeypox or COVID (neither of which has a cure either), but we figured we’d let you know.
I think the people there, there, and way over there are well aware. I’ve heard the personal reports of lots of folks who got a flu that lasts weeks (or not) and is tough to shake, and so on. My wife, son, and daughter had it – my other son seems to have inherited my immune system, and neither of us got it despite proximity. And I’ve been to a lot of events over the course of traditional flu season, and so far, I have not been ill even once.
Fingers-crossed, just cursed myself, gonna prolly get that human metapneumovirus now, though I’m curious about the inhuman version and whether it gives you special powers, neither of which is likely to have a cure because there’s never been one for flu to my knowledge, and the expensive vaccine circus we’ve been programmed to join each year doesn’t make it so.
Sure, you can trick your immune system into preparing for something, so no vaccine in the headline is really just a shout-out to Big Pharma to come up with something, especially if it helps with ED and tricks your body into thinking it’s not hungry, which the flu does already and doesn’t that just work right into the feed a cold starve a fever thing.
My point, in case I danced around it, was that the existence of a vaccine, aside from triggering real anti-vaxxers, is not evidence of anything beneficial to anyone but vaccine makers who make money selling it. A scam that ought to be looked down on the way Mountebanks used to sell piss and ink as a hair growth tonic. Maybe if they’d had a white robe with their name embroidered on it, we’d be more impressed.
And I’m not saying there are no amazing drugs out there that make life bearable for millions. I take one myself, and when it works, things move along as nature intended. Few to no side effects. And then there’s the whole, I had informed consent thing, and no one is pretending it does anything other than what it does.
Vaccines remain cloaked in mystery, surrounded by legal protections, poorly tested, and are overly protected by the same assholes who lied about COVID and have yet to admit the truth or apologize. Some of whom would be looking to profit from a vaccine for human metapneumovirus that will likely have similar mortality rates as any other respiratory virus.
Don’t want anyone to die, especially young, healthy people who get a vaccine they never needed just in case.
