The point is that nothing seems to stop the freight train of produtivity in a free market, If the goal was to hurt the economy or growth or any of that, it didn’t work. And yes, communist countries can grow GDP but this is typically through force and fear and, it can be argued, fudging figures -a issue that affects humans in eveyr political system.
America also has a huge pile of debt and other economic issues but the markets function, creative destruction still operates as intended, and capitalism continues to thrive, but a new plane just crashed into New York’s finaical markets.
Zohran Mamdani is an avowed socialist. The Democrat Socilaists of America have expectations. People with money and th emeans are fleeing the Capital of Capitalism. And while Wall Street isn’t going to pull up stakes and choose someplace else to be (at least I don’t think it will), the writing is on the side of Mr. Jones’ barn.

While the Isalmofascists plot to repalce all the depparing unifromed NYPD officers with Muslims who might just consider enforcing Sharia law in expanding cicrles around the approximatley 300 mosques in Allah’s new western Mecca, the DSA is exerting significant pressure on the budding Mamdani admininstration to advance it’s agenda.
Defunding the police is still a priority for the DSA so will the “therpaists be Muslim? There is no clear disctincion made, despite the DSA being anti-religion, another example of the axis of Democrat spcialists and islamofacists. The path to a totlaitarian Marxist state is shared goal, but is the DSA as blind as the Democrat party in America.
Islam has something they do not. While both are at war with western values and the Americna Republic, the Muslims beleive government exists to advance and enforce the word of Allah, and their extremists are better funded, more committed, and prepared to give people something in parallel. A moral and cultural system to fill the godless vaccume. Somethng to make the tyrnany more berable.
Wealth and profit are not prohibited. They are actually required, but under the thumb of Imams and Sharia. The Capital of Capitalism is going to have to fight that battle while fighting off the DSA, which expects the command and control of the State, absent the free will that makes markets work.
It lands us in an interesting place.
For the DSA or the Imams and their progressive supporters to get what they want Mamdani has to act like a king. Sheik Mamdani isn’t going to get his city council or th eunions (depsite being socialist themselves) or the billionairs to just roll over so he can pick their pockets and rub their tummies.
I find it all fasciniating and at mu current, relatively safe distance, and the island of New Hampshire, in a northeast sea of tax and spend democta spcislt states, we look forward to documenting the chaos.
