Maggie Goodlander, who happens to be a multi-millionaire, is telling her “constituents” that the government shutdown isn’t her fault.
Just over a week ago, I voted for a commonsense budget that would keep our government open, protect healthcare for people across New Hampshire, lower sky-high costs, and restore to Congress the basic constitutional responsibilities that the President has lawlessly ripped away.
Republicans blocked that commonsense budget and senselessly left town. If Republicans keep refusing to do their jobs, they will cause the government to shut down in just a matter of hours.
Is there even one word of truth in there? I don’t think there is, but let’s stay focused. So, what is common sense for Democrats?
Well, if this can be believed.

And?

Not all of this is precisely accurate. Democrats are trying to use a six-week Continuing Resolution to make Affordable Care Act subsidies, which don’t expire until the end of the year, permanent. The subsidies can or have been used by illegals to get taxpayer-backed health care coverage. An issue some Republicans are willing to visit, but not in place of a clean CR meant to keep the government open while the budget bills are properly sorted.
There’s time to get something done but not in a CR.
Democrats disagreed and are pretending the world would end if we didn’t make them permanent in a temporary budget measure.
Americans. it seems, don’t much care about any of that.
Almost no one wanted a shutdown, including Democrats, but Democrats in DC, including Maggie Goodlander, Chris Pappas, Senate Maggie (Hassan), and Retiring-nothing-to-lose Senator Jeanne Shaheen, held the Continuing Resolution hostage until they got health care for illegals, and their other wishlist garbage.
I’m not a CR fan, but it was a clean CR for a few weeks to allow the budget process to be completed. Dems didn’t want a clean CR; they saw it as leverage to address a party priority and refused to support keeping the government open if they didn’t get their way.
Seriously, you blocked a clean CR and shut the government down over it. A move that could affect the healthcare of actual Americans.
They can’t escape that, and since no one is watching their shutdown live stream, they may be sensing how much trouble they are in with real Americans.

As for the rest of Goodlander’s talking point drivel, things could be cheaper, and likely will be if we keep Democrats out of any majority, but they certainly aren’t more expensive than when we had Biden. And yet, some are cheaper (gas and eggs), and on the whole, Trump has done everything he ran for office on, which is what America voted for.
The same Americans who didn’t want the shutdown.
The longer it goes on, (I think) the more trouble Democrats are in, especially if people learn why – so I hope it lasts a few weeks. I hope they get bitchy about every actual budget bill (there are twelve) and try to push this crap into them, keeping departments closed even longer.
It is literally all their fault. They want to secure taxpayer funding to provide insurance and health care subsidies for people who aren’t even supposed to be in the country. Permanently. This isn’t about health or care or costs; it is about using your money to legalize fraud to buy votes.
Bring on the midterms!
