Do Democrats even realize that their response to a thing is often more fascist? Perhaps, the only fascist thing about the thing they are suggesting is fascist? Here’s an example.
The usual suspects are losing their hive mind because American Eagle picked a pretty white woman to be the face of their brand. Triggerd doesn’t begin to describe it. Jeff Childers alerted me to the mass virtue signal we might call American Eagle Derangement Syndrome. Release the flying monkeys and get those Nazis!

Childers explains through the filter of an unhinged white liberal woman who appears to have her finger on the weakening pulse of the Handmaiden media.
Her complaint was only that AE’s ad used a “white woman in these times of rampant racism,” and employed a half-clever play on words: “Sydney Sweeny has good jeans.” Get it? The complainant sure did, and repeatedly insisted that American Eagle was, therefore, “promoting eugenics.”
Have you ever been in American Eagle? Lots of white women with their “I’d rather be anywhere but at the mall” boyfriends or husbands checking their watches as they loiter like stalkers in their wake. One eye on where they are and the other, Marty Feldman-like, searching for the nearest exit. Just in case the world comes to an end or there is a mass shooter or Muslims take over the mall and execute anyone who doesn’t say when asked, al-ḥamdu lillāh.
It’s not the entire customer base, but American Eagle has taken a page from Chrysler RAM, whose current ad campaign is about as Baseball, Hot dogs, and Apple pie as you can get. Americans can do anything but stop being American.
Proglodytes probably pay more for streaming just to avoid ads like this, but it doesn’t appear to offend the same way Sweeney’s Ad does. The Virtue Signal Chorus has gotten itself into a collective panty twist.
Something shattered this week after Ms. Sweeney’s admittedly well-fitting jeans decorated the nation’s airwaves. One of MSNBC’s AWFL producers, Hannah Holland, published this equally unhinged op-ed….
Hannah allowed that Ms. Sweeney was only earning a living, but she was still disappointed in her. As for America, the obviously British MSNBC producer has had it. “The advertisement, and the choice of Sweeney as the sole face in it,” Hannah sneered, “is noninclusive at best, and overtly promoting white supremacy and Nazi propaganda at worst.”
In sum, Hannah branded American Eagle’s ad campaign as a gateway drug to white supremacy, Nazi nostalgia, and capitalist excess of every imaginable sort.
I’m guessing Hannah doesn’t know anyone who thinks differently than she does, nor does she care to mingle with such riff-raff, and she’d be in predictable company. The party whose ideological ancestors inspired Hitler is also the party of censorship, actual banning (of speakers, topics, online opinion, and science that contradicts their political science). The party of Clinton, Obama, and Biden weaponized a bureaucracy against the citizens to whom it is meant to answer, spied on everyone, and tried repeatedly to launch a project to intimidate people into abandoning their right to speech, press, association, and redress.
The attack on AEO is just more of the same. How dare you exercise creative will outside the guardrails of CRT, DEI, and our identity politics? A world where the bemoaned McCarthy era blacklisting is common practice to get a job in Hollywood, publishing, or the music industry. Heck, you can’t even get nominated for some awards if you don’t staff and cast your project as dictated by the #woke supremacists.
Sweeney may well be a product of her environment and as woke as the next thin, attractive, straight white white woman in Hollywood. And while I doubt the backlash from what ought to be her peer group isn’t likely to red pill her, the outrage has only just begun. One of the unhinged might take a break from calling for the deaths of ICE agents long enough to get that crazy closer to Sweeney than she’d ever thought possible.
Dems have walked away from the fascist oligarchs in that party for less.
