Opinion: The American Left Is A Very  Real Existential Threat

Since the 1990s, federal agencies and the media have fed Americans a steady diet of panic about shadowy “right-wing militias” — usually ex-military guys obsessed with guns and ready to wage war against the government at a moment’s notice. The panic went into overdrive after January 6th, 2021. But now, in a staggering act of projection, the threat they’ve spent decades warning about has arrived — only it’s coming from the radical Left.

Our Republic is in peril. We are in a war for the identity and soul of our country. We have been witnessing small skirmishes for some time now, but with the ambush in Texas of ICE agents by a group of the left’s most violent foot soldiers, ANTIFA, decked out in black tactical gear, which included at least two transgender men, their boldness has escalated to a new level. But what is “Leftism?”

During the so-called Enlightenment period, late 1700s to early 1800s, a belief system emerged that science and reason should replace religion as the foundation of a modern society. The proponents of this new concept had trouble agreeing on key details, and this resulted in the wide proliferation of “leftist” prototypes, among which the best known is Marxism.

While different from each other in many important ways, all of these models shared several important philosophical ideas: an aversion to religion, the concept of Capitalism – the free market – and ownership of private property. They claimed an affinity with the working classes and the promise of a world of peace, equality, and prosperity. But what is “Left?”

The terms “Left” and “Right” originate from the French Revolution of 1789-1799. These terms referred to the seating arrangement in the French National Assembly, where those who supported the secular revolution sat on the “left,” while those who favored the King and Church sat on the “right.” Ironically, America is neither Left nor Right. These terms were imported from Europe by the elites educated abroad. But what do leftists want?

Leftists say they want social justice and equality for marginalized groups in the interest of a more inclusive society. But this is what the “useful idiots” – a Soviet term for disposable foot soldiers – are conditioned to believe. This is not what those who manipulate them from the shadows seek. The leftist hierarchy craves absolute power and control of the masses and a nation’s treasury for their own vices and schemes.

The left is obsessed with the stifling of speech that conflicts with their belief system and restraining individual liberty through excessive regulation in an overbearing administrative state.

The American left, particularly minorities, sees conservatives as an aberration to their Utopian goals. They view their opposition as anti-social nihilists seeking to destroy progressivism for a variety of reasons, but primarily, for the purpose of maintaining a homogenous, white, Christian nation.

In the Left’s skewed view of the world, “truth,” has become a right-wing concept that cannot be expressed because, if you tell the truth, you are considered “right-wing,” and to be right wing, is to be in league with the forces of evil, therefore, it is extremely intolerant of dissenting opinions. There’s no place for those who don’t subscribe to their worldview.  In their minds, anyone who opposes their interpretation of goodness, brotherhood of man, progress, education, fairness, diversity, equity, and inclusion is evil incarnate.

Therefore, anyone who opposes them is against all good things; thereby, they are not just wrong, they’re not just people to be argued with, they are people to be “removed and silenced,” by any means necessary. This is what makes leftists an existential threat to those who oppose their worldview. History is filled with the horrors of leftism and the corpses of over 100 million victims of their social engineering, just in the 20th century alone.
