It is tragic that the partnership between Elon Musk and President Trump, which created DOGE, is ending. Congress has perpetuated a culture of waste and fraud, enabled by greedy majorities. The electorate’s mindset reflects the leftist political axiom that views government as a source of revenue rather than a watchdog to be held accountable. What must be done today, Congress will not do.
DOGE ran into a roadblock more potent than anything in the world: the game Congress plays with our money. Congress buys votes from taxpaying citizens who respond with their hands out to vote for more government to divide up other people’s wealth. The collective majority in Congress joins this scheme as the only way to prolong their high life, financed by your tax dollars.
There is only one way to turn our nation back to a Constitutional Republic: an informed and moral electorate. There is no easy way. Even President Trump’s negotiating skills fall short of overcoming the politics of greed. It will not end unless these two fundamental principles — an informed electorate and a moral citizenry —become the foundation for truly making America great again. Jefferson’s words challenge our people:
“Educate and inform the whole mass of people. They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of liberty.”
The John Birch Society’s (JBS) grassroots activism follows this eternal remedy: “less government and more responsibility, and with God’s help, a better world.” This must become the desire of the majority of our citizens again. JBS advocates that the simple morality to ensure liberty demands only from government that all officeholders (federal, state, and local) obey the Law of the land to which they took an oath, and the people obey the rulers. It is not rocket science. It is telling the truth, which too many have abandoned. Truth must not remain an endangered species in the halls of government. We have a culture divorced from its founding premise: “We are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights – life , liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Without God, the author of liberty, our nation mirrors a ship lost in a stormy sea of humanism, socialism, communism, and fascism (all Marxist satanic ideologies).
Because decency and righteousness are pillars of liberty, the JBS, in the 1960s and 1970s, stemmed the tide of moral decline with its Movement to Restore Decency Committee. Fighting abortion long before Roe v. Wade and exposing pornography – the seed of lust that has grown into the LGBTQ+ movement. To win back a stable Republic, the JBS recognized that Americans must both know themselves and their enemy. Constitutional and Declaration of Independence ignorance, long a strong ally of the enemies of liberty, has ruled our people without God.
