You’ll have by now learned that the FDA no longer recommends boosters for the Chinese Virus to anyone under 64 or younger unless they fit an immunocompromised profile. Or that before it can begin to consider that injection for anyone else, manufacturers will have to prove a clinical benefit. You can’t just say it’s safe and effective or demonstrate that it can create antibodies.
The risk-reward profile matters.
This is the new standard for care on the matter from a gaggle of folks the left and their Handmaiden media have smeared as anti-vaxxers. The irony is that Trump’s FDA, under the direction of RFKJ and DHHS, is concerned that the past mishandling of approvals, specifically those alleged as treatments for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, has turned millions away from vaccines with efficacy.
“The American people were skeptical, and some of them took that skepticism to every single vaccine, which has led to some big problems,” said Prasad, referring to the fact that a growing number of Americans have stopped having their children vaccinated for measles, mumps, and rubella, leading to measles outbreaks in pockets of the country. “This is a restoration of that trust. It’s bringing us back to evidence.”
The so-called anti-vaxxers are working to restore trust in the experts who, at least in theory, were hired by the government to make sure that the things it recommended would do more good than harm. They want vaccines that have been tested and proven effective and safer than the disease, whose effects are meant to minimize.
Will Democrats come out loud and proud in opposition? I hope so, but are they that deranged? Is the TDS so deep that they will oppose a plan to improve the national perception of vaccine safety and efficacy and the trust required of government experts tasked with ensuring that truly informed consent is possible?
Kneejerk opposition seems likely, so we’ll keep an eye out.
I have one point of contention. As regards the measles outbreaks, regardless of immunization status, how much of that is a result of the Biden Administration’s open borders policy? For more than a decade, we’ve been sharing reports of uncommon outbreaks of diseases that we’d relegated to the third world. Cases traceable to places with sanctuary policies and larger population of unvetted illegal entrants. People who were not checked or tested before being released into the interior.
During the so-called pandemic, border jumpers weren’t even tested for COVID, while actual citizens were being lined up to be swabbed while having laser thermometers pointed at their heads.
Informed consent and trust are essential. The previous administration and its water carriers’ scotched-earth public health inquisition undermined it, perhaps deliberately, but they’re not Moriarty and I’m loath to give them too much credit. The future they seemed to have planned looked like a world of misery and scarcity. The fewer of us accessing services, the more there are for the people they think matter. Not that we would ever have the resources or access of any ruling class in their utopia, but you can’t help wondering if that was a known, acceptable side effect.
