Kelli Stavast doesn’t get enough credit. She’s the (former?) NBC Pit Reporter at the Talladega Motor Speedway who, when interviewing Brandon Brown, conveniently interpreted the chant F*ck Joe Biden (during a live interview) as Let’s Go Brandon. The rest is history.
George Floyd, on the other hand, got far more credit than was his due. But when the left needs a hero, and an excuse to make trouble, who better than a career criminal who overdosed on Fentanyl. George is credited with being the victim who made Patrice Cullers a millionaire (living in a swanky ‘mostly white’ neighborhood) on the back of a movement that also gave us “mostly peaceful protests.”
BLM rose from obscurity, driven by the same sort of Marxist anti-semitic energy that brought us the Women’s March. George Floyd was their savior or patron saint for whom they demanded tribute, to which much of the corporate world bent the knee in memorial to the knee on his neck that was accused of killing him.
Make no mistake. Floyd killed himself on May 25th, 2020. Derek Chauvin had the unfortunate coincidence of being the officer to arrest him, whose short video set a wildfire that BLM used to destroy black businesses and black lives for years to come. Democrats, who had applauded Obama militarizing the police, set about defunding them to the detriment of the lives of many more blacks. Crime ignored during the Summer of Love continued into successive years as understaffed and underprepared police forces, well aware that their civilian masters were out to get them, did the best they could. We can’t tell you home much property damage, rape, assault, or murder happened in the name of George Floyd, the petty thug and drug abuser previously arrested for armed assault and multiple counts of theft, but never arson or murder. Had he lived (his chronic heart disease, aggravated by his lifestyle, helped do him in), he could have perhaps repeated the exhortations of Rodney King, who, in 1991, was severely beaten by police officers in the Democrat-run paradise that is LA. Video of King also sparked riots after the cops who beat him were acquitted in the spring of 1992. King responded in May 1992 with his now infamous, “Can’t we all get along?”.
“People, I just want to say, can’t we all get along? Can’t we all get along?”
We can, but factions within the political left have to stop inciting violence or, in this case, festering the culture and conditions most likely to create it.
Six days of riots … resulted in 63 people being killed, more than 2,300 injured, 12,000 arrested and about $1 billion in property damage. The California Army National Guard and federal troops from the 1st Marine Division were called in to help restore order. More than 3,600 fires were set and 1,100 buildings looted and destroyed. There also were multiple incidents of people being dragged from their vehicles while they waited at traffic signals.
That begins by ending their culture of victimhood and resentment, which is not something the Party of its operatives are inclined to do. The march through the institutions, the very foundation of the progression from democratic socialism to socialism to communism, is built on resentment based on victim oppressor binary.
Odd that the party that biologically binary sex is bigoted, while the entirety of human experience is defined as oppressor and oppressed. You can’t get much more binary than that, and all of their priorities spin around this black hole of certainty.
George Floyd was a victim of oppression who responded in the only way he could, by oppressing others. The left leaves out that he is a product of their urban program. Democrat social engineering is responsible for fatherless kids, innercity crime, the drug culture, and violence that leave the George Floyds, unable to get even a basic education from city schools, trapped in a cycle of subsistence living under the jackboots of decades of Democrat rule. Crime is the only way to move up, and the victims of their crime look just like they do.
At no point during the four years after George Floyd’s death did Democrats do anything to help minorities. They were too obsessed with gender, politics, and globalism, and hating on Donald Trump. Instead of making things more affordable, they invested money that didn’t exist in green energy, making subsistence living more difficult as food and energy prices spiked. Even water, scaremongered with chants of forever chemicals, began to become a luxury.
Now that we’re five years out, the Left still isn’t interested in helping young black men, except that they’ve begun to take notice. A significant number of men across all demographics put a knee on the neck of the Democrat party. They voted for Donald Trump hoping that the breath of potential prosperity they had glimpsed during Trump’s first term might return. That someone would put them before men dressed as women or the invasion of illegals who were cutting the line at the invitation of a party that still insisted it had their best interests at heart.
The Democrat party has only its interests at heart, and it’s easier to control angry, undereducated, irreligious kids from broken families.
Rodney King, by the way, later won $3.8 million, only to find himself in trouble with the law for real a few years later. PCP. Accusations of domestic violence. He was found dead in the summer of 2012 at the bottom of a swimming pool.
