The familiar adage, “the longest journey begins with the first step,” is so true and very applicable to today’s American decline. Particular to my life, I now consider the Supreme Court’s ruling that banned prayer from our nation’s classrooms as being that first step to America’s downward spiral.
I suppose that for me, the importance of this court decision was magnified since it was rendered during the same month and year, June 1962, when I graduated from high school. Since then, it remained puzzling that such an obvious constitutional issue could produce what the average American believes is a direct violation of the Constitution, which all levels of our judiciary are charged with serving and protecting! Over the years, the fact that its findings were not unanimous only built up my skepticism.
That finding may have been the “first step,” but in the legal world, it seems likely to have been the objective from previous cases, which created a required precedent for use in similar cases. In 1948, the McCollum case bolstered the First Amendment’s “establishment clause” with recognizing “a wall of separation between church and State.” This “wall” finding would be the basis for the eventual decision to ban prayer in school.
I mention this to illustrate that, while gradualism may seem innocent enough at the outset, it is actually a meticulous agenda geared toward the end result. This judicial chicanery reveals the adaptability of a pattern that can conform to any societal issue that requires a removal.
Take, for instance, school lunches. What a helpful gesture for working moms when no longer having to package Junior’s lunch. This was the toe under the tent “first step to reducing parental responsibility, which has now evolved into eliminating overall parental authority. Its magnitude can be realized when leading politicians, even Presidents, publicly claim that children are not of parental authority but are “children of the State!” Call it whatever, gradualism or incrementalism, but the result is that communism has never been so brazen nor considered so inconsequential! Even this disgusting issue of gender mutilation has been somewhat digested by today’s parenting! What’s next?
The creeping of communism gained with each year’s batch of graduates. Over the intervening decades, graduation numbers gradually swelled into the other professions so that now, almost every facet of society is under the direction or influence of these programmed mouthpieces who view America with disdain and sometimes with hatred.
The missing link, which enables such saturation of mind, body, and soul, is the lack of early religious instruction. Without this stabilizing influence, our emptiness becomes a fertile receptacle for whatever, and in this case, it’s the mental munchers who educate. However, as reports filter in, the pendulum seems to be reversing. It’s now apparent that their slow and orderly movement was jarred in 2016 and again last year with a more intense and determined effort from a President who survived his assassination. In their haste, they insulted and deeply offended, to the detriment of their agenda. Inadvertently, they revealed their true identity. As mom always said, “God works in mysterious ways.”
