During Trump 1.0, just about everyone with a security clearance used it to try to undermine his administration. They leaked, obstructed, misrepresented, and otherwise made trouble for the 45th President. Trump 2.0 has been very different. Donald Trump has been actively rescinding the security clearance of anyone who used it to undermine him the first time, or would likely do so now or has shown an inability to be trusted with it.
The 51 Intelligence experts. Joe Biden. The entire Biden family.
I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information: Antony Blinken, Jacob Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Andrew Weissmann, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Cheney, Kamala Harris, Adam Kinzinger, Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and any other member of Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s family. Therefore, I hereby direct every executive department and agency head to take all additional action as necessary and consistent with existing law to revoke any active security clearances held by the aforementioned individuals and to immediately rescind their access to classified information. I also direct all executive department and agency heads to revoke unescorted access to secure United States Government facilities from these individuals.
The White House Press Office released the memorandum on 3/21, delivering the good news to all concerned.
Stripping Hillary of her clearance was a nice move and completely legitimate. She proved herself dangerous from Bill Clinton’s first term (The FBI file scandal), then again with her illegal, unsecured “server,” which was mirrored and milked by the ChiComs for months before she got caught.
It’s all on a need-to-know basis, and they don’t need to know.
This is at least the second tranche of revocations, and I’d be willing to bet there will be more. Anyone in the swmap that gets drained who has one will lose it. They aren’t taking any chances this time around.
