Things at my house have taken a calamitous turn. My wife has announced that she is seriously thinking about divorce; it’s on and off but realistically, I don’t see the marriage lasting. I don’t want this for the kids’ sake, but this has been building for some time – over a decade actually per her own words. It’s a truly long story, but it’s finally gelled into cold reality. (And yes, I’m hoping for counseling; in the past, attempts to talk with a mediator present always turn into her saying how everything is my fault, and not acknowledging anything I say as having bearing on her; she’ll give me “feedback” but won’t accept any. Counseling may happen but for multiple reasons I don’t think it’s anything that will heal things.) Obviously a lot unsaid here as to why.
I must take an indefinite leave from posting at the Grok. Hashem-willing, someday, I’ll be back. But for now I must focus 100% on two separate things:
- Finding work. I have had virtually no luck with my search – and none of the interviews I’ve had have coalesced into an offer. I need a job, even if not engineering, that enables me to – hopefully – keep the house. See 2.
- Potentially, finding another place to live nearish Nashua as the house may need to be sold, and I will need somewhere to hang my hat.
My single biggest concern is my two kids. Please pray for their well-being; mine too but they take priority. My older child has come to terms with it but the younger one was shocked by the news and is massively depressed.
I also will doubtless need a lawyer. My problem is I’m just about flat broke after approaching a year of no work.
