There are many ways to measure diversity. In the case of Joe Biden, he filled his cabinet and staff like a crayon box. He wanted to be surrounded by as many different colors, genders, and sexual persuasions as possible to make his team the most diverse administration in history. Biden succeeded by his standards, but unfortunately for America, his administration was probably the weakest team and a disservice to Americans.
With his final nominations today to fill out his cabinet, many people on both sides of the aisle declared Trump’s administration the most diverse team ever assembled. In this case, these folks applauded Trump for the quality and diversity of thought that will go to work with the 47th President on January 20. The 18 days is a record for a President-elect to fill his team. This spurt shows how seriously Trump takes his responsibility to the American people and the urgency of the situation. Trump knows the clock is ticking, and though he has a four-year term, he knows the reality of the mid-terms in 2026. History is not kind to the sitting President in the mid-terms, and the power usually shifts. If that happens, the Democrats will make years three and four very challenging for Trump.
Results are critical to any politician. Today, Trump is enemy number one to all Democrats, but if he can deliver on his promises, even some Democrats will soften their angst, and there may be a status quo until 2028. There are always the typical Democrats who feel an obligation to give the mainstream media meaty sound bites. These are the pols who are determined to ensure the divide in this country stays wide.
Rep Dan Goldman of New York was a go-to for CNN or MSNBC when they needed anti-Trump rhetoric. His comment today was that Trump is on his way to dismantle our government. If Goldman talked about government waste and unnecessary departments or people, he was right on target. But Goldman is rarely on the pulse, so we can assume that he was still talking about Trump destroying our Democracy, a common theme during the election.
From the other Blue Coast, we have Senator-Elect Adam Schiff of California. Schiff made a career of appearing on the Sunday talk shows perpetuating the phony Russian collusion story. Today, he challenges Trump’s vetting of his appointees and feels the Senate must protect the President-Elect from embarrassment. This man spent four years spouting words of defamation to anyone who would listen, and now he wants you to believe he is one of Trump’s protectors. Sorry, I am not buying what Adam is selling.
I am reminded of a comment by Kamala Harris in the closing days of the election. She said Trump was low-energy and lacked the stamina to be President of the United States. Trump has been a machine since he was elected, just as he was on the campaign trail. Her statement was evidence of her flawed judgment. With the proper mission and the A-Team he has built, this holiday season may continue until January 20 and beyond.
