If Democrats are the Party of Inclusion, why do they have an obsession with Identity Politics? I find it incredibly ironic that the Democrats are nothing more than a collection of boxes, and if you do not fit into a particular one, they will create a new one for you. If you need proof of that statement, look no further than the LGB community.
Three letters were enough when this box was created, but it was not descriptive enough for the Left. It did not allow for men who identified as a woman, but then again, the Left has a problem with defining a woman. LGB had to be more specific and grew over time to now be LGBTQIA+.
I will admit I had to go to the Internet to decipher the acronym. This denotation includes space for those identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (and in some cases, “questioning”), intersex, asexual (and sometimes “ally”), and the “+” is for a plethora of other orientations and identities. Again, I pleaded ignorance and had to look up some descriptives. But today’s thoughts are not focused on sexual orientation, for the Left likes to label and use all facets of human existence. The word “people” will never do.
We have a unique Democrat ticket in 2024, with a woman Presidential candidate who is Black or Indian depending on who is asking, and we have a middle-aged white guy as running mate who can be anything…just ask Tim, and he will make something up. This ticket is floundering, not just because they are confused about their identity but also about what they stand for. People are realizing they cannot trust Harris or Walz, because they cannot commit to a team that does not commit itself.
Being an American should be enough. Over 300 million people in 50 states, all protected by one Constitution, should be enough to describe America, but some need to micromanage every box. I am impressed by Donald Trump and JD Vance crisscrossing this great country, talking to every person or group. This is emblematic of the all-inclusive feeling of the Republican Party. Democrats like to lump all Republicans into the Racist Basket, but I think labeling people is in itself racist.
Former President Obama came out this week to help the Harris/Walz campaign, not by talking to all Americans, but to focus on Black men. Focus is not the right word, as Obama was working hard to shame Black men because polls show these men do not support Kamala Harris. According to Obama, if a Black man is considering a vote for Trump, it means they are not truly Black, or they are sexist and cannot support a woman. This may be one of the more racist and stereotypical efforts I have seen. Obama cannot concede that these Black men feel deserted by the Democrat party, had a better life under Trump, and do not see a better future for them with Kamala Harris in control.
If the polls can be trusted, Trump is winning the battle with all groups of Americans, except women who claim abortion is their biggest concern. These Trump supporters are answering the biggest question in Presidential politics: are you better off than you were four tears ago? The only people who can answer yes to that query are illegal migrants. That group can thank Kamala Harris for opening the southern border, letting them in, and making America less safe for all Americans. I hope Harris, Obama, and any other surrogate spends the next three weeks talking to boxes, as Trump talks to all Americans. This will ensure that Trump’s victory is too big to rig.
