Joe Biden spoke to a handful of Americans two hours ago (barely), explaining very little except that Trump is bad, and he is passing something (probably gas) in the name of unity (which he opposed throughout his presidency) to save the Democracy he worked to undermine. All so Democrats who voted for him could be stuck with a woman he didn’t want for his second term VP ‘cuz reasons.
He didn’t say all that. This is Joe Biden. He said very little and not well. It is as evident as ever that whoever is Hidin’ with Biden has been subverting Democracy for years. The guy allegedly elected in November 2020 isn’t calling the shots. He can barely manage to read prepared remarks, which means that the national address broadcast at 8 PM ET was little more than proof of life.
Joe is still alive! Long live Joe. (At least, that’s probably the deal they made with Jill to get her to let him drop his shot at her second term. Or is it her shot at his second term?
Reactions to the words Joe said to the camera were mixed, probably because not too many people gave a shit. GP reports that the WH YouTube feed had fewer than 7000 viewers, a far cry from the 81 million who allegedly voted for Joe in 2020.
Biden also claimed to defend democracy. He did this by censoring and jailing his political opponents, destroying the US standing in the world, and stealing the 2020 election.
Joe Biden also defended democracy by using his Department of Justice to try to throw his predecessor in prison.
And Joe Biden also defended democracy by strong-arming the social media giants to shutdown pro-Trump content on the internet.
Not a lot of Democracy from Joe or his party. Even his own voters have been ignored, as were Bernies before him (twice). It’s as if the fix is in, and oh look, the brownish woman they can’t kick off the ticket is now the presumptive nominee because Democrats, who don’t like Kamala any more than the rest of us, can’t be seen punting the diversity hire for anyone else. Democracy!
Over at Red State,
Joe Biden finally emerged on Wednesday after dropping out of the presidential race over the weekend. Appearing very frail, the president addressed the nation from the Oval Office in what was billed as an explanation of why he abruptly stepped aside as the Democratic Party nominee.
Unfortunately, though perhaps expectedly, Biden provided no real information at all. In fact, his clearly deteriorating condition combined with the things he said only served to deepen the scandal around him and Kamala Harris. Who is actually the president? Why is he remaining in office if he can’t run for a second term?
To illustrate the absurdity at play, Biden essentially argued that he’s such an amazing president and so capable of serving a second term that he dropped out to “unite my party.” None of this makes any sense.
If you’re looking for something less partisan, Just The News has some balanced coverage.
“Over the next six months, I’ll be focused on doing my job as president,” he said. “That means I’ll continue to lower costs for hardworking families, grow our economy. I’ll keep defending our personal freedoms, on our civil rights, from the right to vote to the right to choose. I’ll keep calling out hate and extremism. Make it clear there is no place, no place in America for political violence or any violence, ever period.
“I’m going to keep, keep speaking out to protect our kids from gun violence. Our planet from climate crisis is the existential threat. I will keep fighting my for my cancer moonshot, so we can end cancer as we know it, because we can do it. I’m going to call for Supreme Court reform, because this is critical to our democracy.”
Stop kidding yourselves, speechwriters. Joe will be making bubbles with his pudding, and you know damn well no one running the country (it’s not Joe) has a clue how to do anything but the opposite of whatever Joe thinks he said.
Democrats couldn’t grow an economy or defend personal freedoms if they tried. They don’t believe in either, for starters, and second, they don’t know how. As for Democracy, Democrats use that word to describe mob rule, which is a good way to frame the Biden legacy.
