Tell Boston Children’s Gender Clinic No Child is Born in the Wrong Body

On the website for Boston Children’s Hospital gender clinic, the Gender Multispeciality Service (GeMS), it says they “welcome patients from ages 3 to 25.”

On Saturday, May 22, six of us, representing Can I Get a Witness, stood outside the clinic holding signs to call attention to what is being done to children inside the unmarked building: “Gender Clinics Harm Children,” “No Child is Born in the Wrong Body,” “No Puberty Blockers,” and “Who is Keira Bell?

For all ages, the treatment for gender-confused kids at GeMS includes “affirmation” of the child as the opposite sex by changing their name and pronouns and clothing. From age 10, the children are administered puberty blockers, which halt sexual development as well as interfering with normal physical and brain development. In their teen years, kids are administered cross-sex hormones to simulate the puberty of the opposite sex.

At Boston Children’s Hospital Center for Gender Surgery, they perform surgeries on teens to give an appearance of the sex characteristics of the opposite sex or being “non-binary.”

At age 15 and up, girls are given double mastectomies. At age 17 and up, boys’ penises are removed and they are given a simulated vagina. At age 18 and up, young women’s vaginas are removed and a simulated penis created.

We stood outside the clinic, offering pamphlets to passersby. We explained to a few, to their horror, what is happening in the clinic. Many members of the hospital staff walked by but did not engage with us.

Can I Get a Witness’s Joey Brite told us that a good source of hers let her know that within hours after our protest there were hospital staffers that created a buzz within the hospital. Most of them had no idea that these types of services were being offered at a hospital clinic.

Joey Brite said:

It is great news to hear that the protest of Boston Children’s gender clinic caused a stir and that will help build the movement to go against these dangerous life-altering practices. We have a goal to shut these pediatric clinics down completely and this is the start of a bigger revolution to do just that.
