The NH GOP Has Lost the Consent of the Governed

Pam Tucker and Steve Stepenak

Still no apology from the NH GOP, i.e. Chair Stephen Stepanek or Vice-Chair Pam Tucker, for the disrespectful mismanagement and violation of the rules of order during the Jan. 23rd virtual NH GOP meeting to elect state party officers.

Keep in mind that legitimate government, even the government of a state party, requires the consent of the members.

CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED: In political philosophy, the phrase “consent of the governed” refers to the idea that a government’s legitimacy and moral right to use power is only justified and lawful when consented to by the people or society over which that political power is exercised.

Do you think these new NH GOP officers have the “consent of the governed?”  I don’t. And, of course, Stephen Stepanek and  Pam Tucker want to be rewarded for their malfeasance by re-election on February 6th.
