The failure of public schools to impart even rudimentary knowledge of self-government principles, natural rights theory and the rule of law is compounded by the suicidal abandonment of civic education. (emphasis mine).  Add this, too, by Thomas Jefferson (who WAS one of our Founding Fathers, if you were wondering) to the one in the title:

“The field of knowledge, is the common prosperity of all mankind.”

Sigh…sounds like the GPS’s of these chuckleheads were a few birds short and missed “The field”…

Should I dispair now?  Somehow, I get the feeling this is more of a “feature” of our Educational system than a “bug”.  I afear that old Ben may have been right: “A Republic, if you can keep it”.  You cannot keep something that which you know nothing about.  As Michelle Malkin puts it:

As we celebrate our nation’s 237th birthday, a crucial facet of American life has all but vanished. We have forsaken, in a systematic and deliberate public manner, one of our most fundamental duties: fostering civic virtue in each and every one of our citizens.

What does it mean to be an American? Politicians in both parties keep pushing to create a new “path to citizenship” for millions of illegal aliens. But if sovereignty and self-preservation still matter in Washington, citizenship must be guarded ferociously against those who would exploit and devalue it at every electoral whim.

Project Veritas, founded by James O’Keefe, made a mockery of the falsehood promulgated by NH Democrats that voter fraud didn’t exist in NH.  They continued to look away, like ostriches racing to the nearest sand bar milliner or hatters  (yeah, think that one over), for years as instances of fraud kept rolling into AG’s office (many times by Ed Naile, Chair of the Coalition of NH Taxpayers – better known as CNHT, who penned a message here).  It finally took a guy a mere few years out of college, James O’Keefe, and an audastic band of brothers similarly committed to expose the seams where ossified government policy and inertia is overtaken by malfeasant people,  to employ what General Patton once said:”L’audace, toujours l’audance” (“always audacity”).  They used simple technique, really – cameras, YouTube,  and the New Media, to show how easy voter fraud was.  The audacity in all this , as we all know now – was to be fearless in exposing that which had been denied by the Left for so many decades and centuries – on Election Day, just walk up to a poll worker , ask “Do you have a ballot for <insert name here>, and one could vote as many times as one would have wanted.

Which made the NH Ruling class look rather silly and they began to retaliate.  As the first link shows, Dem Gov Lynch tried to veto the Voter ID law passed by the NH Senate and House subsequent to the videos appearing – and failed.  Uber-Progressive Zandra “Rice Crispies”-Hawkins tried a petition to the AG’s office – and being plied by both sides, NH Assistant Attorney General Richard Head decided that he would not only use the good name of his office but also consorted with someone known to be on the wrong side of the law, Nadia Naffe, to obtain illegality gotten emails of James O’Keefe?

From Adam Cahn (Cahnmans Musings), an operative for the Democrat run Battleground Texas, was caught illegally registering voters in a Houston park.

We caught Sam, an activist hired by the Democrats & Barack Obama’s Battleground Texas at Houston’s Emancipation Park during the Juneteenth Parade & Festival illegally registering voters.  Texas law states that Deputy Voter Registrars must be a resident of the state of Texas,must be issued a certificate of appointment and given a receipt book, and must be authorized by the county in which they are registering voters. (http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/…).   The problem is that Sam is from Oregon, isn’t a resident of Texas, doesn’t have a certificate of appointment, doesn’t have a receipt book issued by the county and IS NOT authorized to do what he’s doing.  That is the definition of Voter and Election Fraud.
