Hemingway 2A Rally – what’s a 2nd Amendment rally w/out some machine gun shooting!

Being really under the weather on Sat means I didn’t get as much video as I should have – and certainly not enough of the automatic firearms. Two of the popular ones were the “Ma Deuce” (.50 cal. heavy machine gun – the Youngest’s favorite weapon while deployed to Afghanistan) and the 1919 (.30 cal machi1ne gun).  Here’s a taste of both:

Ma Deuce:

Andrew Hemingway 2A Rally – Interview with new shooters

During last Saturday’s Andrew Hemingway 2A Rally, a group of new (and one “returning”) shooters decided to attend – just a group of guys that wanted to do something that they had never done before (or a long, long time ago).  Grokster Susan had done some safety / coaching with them at the Londonderry Fish & … Read more

Hemingway 2A Rally – Andrew Hemingway addresses the crowd with a Life Free msg

Last Saturday, the Hemingway for [NH] Governor campaign held a Second Amendment rally at the Londonderry Fish & Game Club.  It was a time for first time shooters (video coming soon),  guys vs gal competition, general shooting as well as a “machine gun shoot” with various fully automatic firearms like a Ma Deuce (.50 caliber machinegun), … Read more

Montana Senate Race – Democrats Can Kiss That Seat Goodbye…

Long Story Short, Max Baucus was a Democrat albatross shipped off to China as an ambassador (to save some face).  His sterling ‘conservative Democrat’ replacement was busted for having plagiarized the majority of his Army War College thesis.  He bailed.

Left to decide at the Montana Democrat Party State Convention,  the curdled cream of Montana’s left wing crop, cloistered amongst themsleves, picked the candidate they really, really (really-really) wanted.  A Total moon bat.

Don’t Give In to Regional Planners…

Granite State Future - Organizing the end of your property rights in NHRegional planning subverts authority from taxpayers, town councils and selectman, state reps and even the Governor’s office.    Anyone who does not know this is ignorant (bad) or lying (worse).  To get a feel for how screwed you are if you embrace any of this garbage, check out this video from a County Commissioner with some thoughts on that for my original post…

While the County has signed on and is attempting to do what is reasonable, at 2:22 Commissioner Rob Astorino gets to the heart of a problem;  the devil in the details.  Details that were not even in the agreement they signed onto–though we know, as folks who have seen Ken Eyring speak on this, the details are in the agreement, couched in vague language that hides the real agenda, and the forfeiture of property rights and decision making to unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats in perpetuity.

OK. Now, watch some of this Southern New Hampshire Regional Planning meeting.  It sounds all warm and fuzzy, littered with progressive buzz words, but it is the same game and leads to the same abusive relationship and loss of local control…

Obama on Taking Vacations and Who ‘Ended’ the War in Iraq

It’s a two-fer from the best-est, dreamiest-est, presidential president ever…or something.

First – ‘Obama vows not to take vacations if elected president’  c/o Ace. Via Weasel Zippers.

Second – ‘I promised to end the war in Iraq and did, uuuuh, actually that was the government of Iraq, uhhh – al Maliki did it, just ignore all the video of me… taking credit, …on the campaign trail…over and over again…for ending the war in uhhhhraq  c/o Ace via Free Beacon

Part 2 – NH State Senator Dave Boutin: “Will you stop? Will you let him go? Will you stop?”

“Will you stop?  Will you let him go?  Will you stop?”

Those of the words of a patron of a bar beseeching NH State Senator Dave Boutin to stop his drunken rantings over nothing.  It gets worse – NSFW (Not Safe For Work) – Play the video away from young / impressionable children and don’t play it at work (foul language) (sorry, forgot the warning for Part 1).

NH State Senator David Boutin continues to go after two men from across the bar from him simply because two men had been talking to a lady and the lady left.  In his inebriated condition, Dave Boutin gets it in his besotted head that the two men have been uncivil, and then proceeds to show the world what happens when someone verbally (and logically) loses control under the influence.  All of this with judgment that he has the right to publicly and loudly berate these two for something that they have not done:

Again, a short clip just like the previous one.  The reason was that the guy with the cell phone camera took quick shots – he never believed that NH State Senator Dave Boutin was even a NH State Representative (“if you were really a representative in our House, your boys would have gotten you out of here in a hurry“). He kept thinking that Dave Boutin would stop (and relayed that if he had known in advance, he just would have kept it rolling – he couldn’t believe that Dave Boutin just would not stop!).

Well, one has to wonder if Dave Boutin has any boys around – no one came to save him, even as a fine upstanding example of what an NH State Senator should be.  Judgment – was there any displayed by him?  The epitome of reasoned and logical debate:   “All you care about is getting

EPA Regulation Supporters – never thinking of the ramifications on others

The new CO2 emissions regulations now being put forth by the EPA is going to have a huge impact on the American economy and people.  Here, Dan Joseph of MRC TV went to interview (yeah, in DC he gets to do interviews with all kinds of folks) some folks that were demonstrating FOR the EPA to implement them (as opposed to say “Who the heck is the EPA to put itself up higher than the Congress in making this huge impact on America”?

I think the supporters were a bit, shall we say, lacking:

You know, if these folks want to reshape and restructure their own lives to use less energy in every aspect of their lives, go for it.  It is this “forced communitarianism” by

Shades of Ian Underwood – especially when the police start saying it

of the Constitution?During the NH anti-gun bills debates, a gentleman by the name of Ian Underwood gave his testimony  to the NH Legislature on what he saw as a large problem in the legislators’ behavior in ignoring their oaths of fidelity to the NH Constitution:

The first is that a bill like this undermines respect for the very rule of law itself. After all, if the legislature isn’t going to respect the limits placed on it by the NH Constitution, then why should individuals respect the limits placed on them by that legislature — whether regarding guns, or schools, or traffic laws, or anything else?

If we’re going to disregard the big rules, why pay any attention to the smaller ones?

The meme is spreading, especially with Obama’s ongoing examples contra the Constitution (“I will act alone”). I have seen and heard it many times now – mostly from those that DO believe that The Rule of Law (once absolute measure of “social justice” as ALL Americans were subject to the same Laws and in the same ways) is a founding Pillar of this Republic that now are frightened.  They are scared that it is being pushed out of the way so as “to make Progress” (as defined by the Left); Progressivism demands that The Rule of Law be ignored, that The Rule of Law must give way to the “pragmatism of the moment” (or crisis, as it might be) – principles be damned.  They know that once ignored,

GIGO Gecko-more proof that Obama’s EPA is killing coal & making electricity prices rise

Laser Beam on Coal JobsGIGO Gecko, a new commenter, decided to challenge my post on rising electricity prices (now at an all time average high) which I peg, in no small part, to the EPA’s new regulations on CO2 emissions that carry out Obama’s promise in closing coal fired electrical generating plants – or cause the to go into bankruptcy.  So much so, several States are banding together in suing the EPA to put a halt do it.  The operational questions are these:

Does, OR SHOULD, a solitary regulatory agency be able to kill off an entire industry?  Should the Administrative State have this power – or is this a usurpation of the responsibilities of Congress?

Which, as we know, decided to NOT take action to this Cap N Trade kill-a-like as it could not agree on the issue.  Which should NEVER been seen, as Obama and other Progressives would have us believe, as a signal to the Executive Branch to do it on its own. – that is not how our political system works.  But GIGO Gecko is aghast that I think that is exactly what is happening, so Lizardly Obama Apologist, this is for you:

I have never asked for handouts from the people around me or from the government.  I want to pay my own way. I want to work.  I want to feel pride in my work.”

Here, we see a coal miner seeing his government

Indeed – Has our Government stripped away the value of American Citizenship?

Certainly as this trucker goes through a Border Patrol checkpoint, one can hear the dishearted question and answer:

Sadly, they both may be right.  Ask yourself – what advantage does the ordinary middle-class American have over an illegal alien?  What part of American Citizenship is valuable anymore than just being here?  Used to be that:

  • I get to live in the #1 country in the Developed World – but so do they (welcomed in by Obama and watching this illegal kids invasion, an army of taxpayer workers to make their “transition” to living here easier)
  • They need to show papers showing citizen  (and now I can be challenged at a border checkpoint, even being a Citizen that should be able to travel anywhere without “papers”)

So, Hamas keeps denying they shoot rockets from civilian areas?

I keep thinking that the Israeli-Hamas war is like that between the idea war between Republicans and Democrats.  Both Hamas and Democrat / Lefties are good at emotional demagoguery relying on both heartstrings and low info population and both pretty much use “its for the children” (albeit in somewhat different ways).  But occasionally, facts do crop up … Read more

Constitutional ‘Expert:’ President Can’t Suspend Deportations By Executive Order

In this clip a constitutional ‘expert’ explains to a Univision audience that (the president) can’t just suspend deportations by executive order. “With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through executive order, that’s just not the case.” This was, admittedly, three years ago, well past the average shelf life of for an … Read more

The Missing Tile Syndrome

This is probably one of the best Prager U videos I’ve seen in a long time.  It very accurately depicts a facet of human nature critical to preventing our own happiness.  After you watch it, ask yourself, how this might apply to Progressive policy, and let us know your thoughts in comments.

Israel and The Problem In The Middle East

I must have missed this one.  Take a few minutes to watch as it simplifies the “problem” in the Middle East. Update.  I did post this back in April. Enjoy it again in English, with Spanish subtitles because Peace is possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUPN4MGr-pw

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) Question: should there be a Special Prosecutor in the Lois Lerner IRS scandal?

trey gowdy
Trey Gowdy

You know, the one where Lois Lerner, first at the Federal Elections Committee and then while in the IRS, decided that her Federal Govt positions should be used to target people who simply disagreed with her politically (anyone not a Progressive believing in Bigger Govt was her sworn enemy), knowing that it is all but nigh impossible for the little guy to stand up against the most feared agency in the Federal Government.

She helped weaponize the Govt against at least 40% of the electorate that consider themselves to be conservative.  Then, if that was not enough, tried to bring the Dept. of Justice in to criminally prosecute those same Conservatives.  It doesn’t help her cause (or the Dems trying to defend her by any means possible).

But try they did – and did not work out all that well, given that the Chair of the Special Committee showed his true prosecutorial skills  and just toyed with a law professor they had brought in (video after the jump – I guarantee you, it is not 6 minutes wasted ):
